At least I'm hopeful
Finally, finally get ready to raid, all our guildies are 346+ got two tanks two healers just gotta get like 2 more dps (shouldn't be hard), was going to do a BH run sunday (to warm up and see how we flow together), then try a raid after if everything works out.
AND MY HUBBY WANTS US TO QUIT AND GO TRY RIFT.
I don't think in the history of me playing wow I've actually done the current raid content, I'm always catching up.
You need 3 healers for most bosses anyway![]()
Seems with the PTRs (since 4.0.6) a lot of former beta testers are running into an error that causes their beta account to stay around, but get classified as a PTR account.
What this means is that you can copy over characters but when you try to log in you see no realms, since you're logging into your beta account, which has no servers online.
Blizzard is ignoring this issue, support, billing, GMs all just tell you to give up, or that the PTRs are down and you're wrong, etc
That's pretty bullshit. Asking people to test and then ignoring them when they tell you that you aren't allowing them to.
I remember awhile back when I was on the PTR that you had to delete any old PTR data to be able to access the new PTR/transfer characters and what not. Would it be the same thing for beta testers? Or is it just a fuck up on their part for account management?
Also, of course they wont respond. It took me fucking 3 days (not exaggerating) to have a GM contact me about a ticket to restore my heirloom axe.
pop random dungeon, end up in hc grim batol on first boss with 4 people from the same guild called "Its Always The Tanks Fault".. almost left at that point but then I noticed their setup
rogue rogue dk priest
asked for dk to grip away malice trogg and kill it away from the boss.. nope. retard would rather kill it next to boss. twice. first i could muscle through with defensive cooldowns, but couldn't get past the second.
then they all start talking in their foreign bullshit language and i manage to pick out the "kick" and "tank" so i just went afk from there waiting for my boot
You can reset all Grim Batol bosses though, sometimes the 2nd will not reset but its rare.

I would love to see this on the Ah, or also drop in heroic (but like that'll happen).
I don't really wanna spend the points because then I know Mal would put out.
No firelands coming in 4.1. That's both a positive and a negative I guess. The negative is, of course, no new raids in 4.1. The positive is that 4.1 should be out by the beginning of April because there's not much content to test--just retuned old zones.
Firelands for late May, I guess.
Looks like they're almost finished shaping up the healers for 4.1 as well. But they're still missing the point: while all 5 healers don't need the exact same abilities, homogenizing the general type of abilities available is key to making healers generally interchangeable. Something like: Raid Cooldown, Tank Cooldown, Mana Regain cooldown, Throughput cooldown, tank utility ability, would be a decent paradigm. But, up to and including 4.1 announced changes, the current system is seriously deficient:
Rdruid is missing a tank cooldown and a tank utility ability.
Shaman is missing a tank cooldown and a throughput cooldown, and its mana regain cooldown is way too strong.
Holy priest is missing a raid cooldown.
Disc priest is missing nothing.
Paladin is missing nothing, and actually has extra cooldowns.
Given this, it should come as no surprise that priest and paladin are the preferred healers, filling extra slots with shaman when more mana is useful.
Paladin has zero raid healing utility, the only raid heals they have is one that is incredibly reliant on people being stacked up, and the other is a stupid cone AoE that does so little healing it's only used for its beacon transfer to the tank. For whatever reason, despite the homogenization of healing, holy paladins are still at the extremes of what they are (tank, spot healing) and aren't good (raid healing) at.
Blizz releasing content asap w/o Firelands is in response to Rift.. no other reason.. and their bs shorter cycle talk is just a PR stunt to save face. the fact is.. about this time in last xpac uldaur was already being tested. All they have after 4+ months of no new content is 2 recycled instances. I know these instances have been completely redone, but its still modifying existing content w/ is easier then making new content from scratch.
I love how they said "ppl aren't ready for the difficulty of firelands" (or something to that extend), but wtf are they thinking. It's common knowledge raiding gets more difficult as an xpac progresses. I'm not necessarily complaining about difficulty as my guild has had normal mode stuff on farm for weeks now (can clear everything in one night if we didn't care for heroics), but if they make stuff even more difficult next tier they are going to be eliminating more and more guilds from raiding. And, i dont know about others, but a lot of ppl in my guild aren't happy about doing the same stuff for 2-3+ more months.. HM's aren't new content, its just candy content
Beacon transfer is still a huge advantage for paladin, they can be assigned entirely to raid healing with direct heals and get great numbers on the tank. I wouldn't call Paladin weak at raid healing for this reason alone, though certainly they're not as strong as holy priest or shaman. They're probably as good as druid or disc priest.
I don't have a problem with it but yeah, I probably won't be doing much in ZA and ZG. They want to avoid another ToC situation which was flat out terrible, you did a few bosses in ToC which dropped far superior loot and then you went back to doing ulduar hardmodes which didn't even have a point anymore at the time. People wouldn't even spend points on ulduar loot in the guild I was in post-ToC because they were stockpiling for items they wanted in ToC 25, lol.
Even with ICC out people were still doing Ulduar, and doing ToC hardmodes to fill the caps of gating(which is a terrible fucking idea)
In a guild i was in, we lost so many raiders because people eventually got sick of doing Ulduar hardmodes while ICC was in gate mode. People would just stop showing up because the loot in Ulduar was so "inferior" at the time. ToC fucked up the entire WoTLK expansion because of the huge jump in the gear which made ulduar completely pointless and being so short. IF delaying the firelands a few months is the only way they can prevent putting out another ToC raid then i'm all for it.
Ulduar normal was much much harder than anything in normal toc 10-25 yet you got rewarded with super loot in ToC 10-25 which kinda made Ulduar lame as fuck. We had so many people coming and going in and out of the guild because people only cared about the I.level of loot instead of finishing out the content which is another bad thing WoTLK brought out in people especially when gearscore got completely out of hand and everything became about I.level instead of clearing the content.
While I agree w/ everything you said... Whats better.. having horrible gating, but new content.. or being forced to do ulduar w/o any new content for 2 additional months. Yeah, the gear may still be relevant, but doing the same thing for even longer stretches of time doesn't make it more enjoyable. At last w/ the gating stuff you had some better gear to make some HM's easier.
Especially w/ this tier of content... some of the HM's require specific group make ups, that you wouldn't necessarily need for normal modes, or are STILL completely unbalanced for 10m v 25m. I still think valiona's HM adds have the same hp in 10m as they do in 25m
I think its a no win situation for Blizz. I rather wait an additional 2 months over them throwing out a gated raid with gear that has insane stats that completely makes you go back to fill raid nights on now an inferior raid tier, personal preference though. I say its a no win because a lot of people don't care about heroic raiding and just wanna do the shit on normal and for those people it hurts the most because people will get bored quickly.
