Fucking Al'akir, wiped for 3 hours today and all I had to show was a sore ass and dissapoint in how much I suck at tornadoes. This one time got across, and then charge, and the game decided to path my charge right back into the tornadoes...
i log on 25 minutes late to raid: guild 1shots sinestra with an inactive shaman and none of us actives are on for it.

Anyone else think the set bonuses for t11 are boring as fuck? It seems as though they've become so bent on balancing the game that they've squeezed every last drop of fun out.
Agreed. I believe DK WAR and PLD sets are exactly the same in bonuses and stats, except 2 set is whatever the main/signature ability is, 4set is the 3min cooldown extension by 50% ... yawn
On another subject, I'm absolutely not a caster:
http://www.wowhead.com/item=67133/dizzes-whirling-robe
How good is this BoE item (compared to Tier 11 bodies and other boss drops/crafted) and how much roughly would it be worth? (I know our economies are different and yada yada). It also, like other epic world BoEs, has the same stats as a boss drop in the dungeons (i.e. Icebone Hauberk, with 5 up on AH for 6-10k, no one seems interested).
There's one on our AH for 30k, it's been there for god knows how long (I've been monitoring AH for some other BoE). A guy shouts in trade to buy VP boots. I whisper him saying 7000g. He tells me to meet him at the vendor. So ... I get there. Says he wants the caster cloth shoes. I say 7000g, again. After a bit of awkward silence, he said he'll give me 1000g. I basically tell him no, which he doesn't seem to understand, then in an odd act of desperation, offers me the above caster robes for the shoes, saying it's worth 30k. I decided I do not want to be stuck with a BoE no one seems to want and decline the offer, at which point I seemed to have triggered some sort of rage switch as he starts typing, in what seems to be desperation, that i'm crazy and such, but except, the letters all came out as if he's been hitting CTRL+ALT+letter as his text came out with lots of weird spaces and symbols.
Worried, I said that I'm not crazy but told him to find someone else who would take the offer. And ran away =p ... it got kinda freaky the way he typed lol.
EDIT: VPs are about to be earned at a more significantly easier rate, and the VP belonged to my PLD alt which I have no desire to gear for. Was trying to get rid of it. I felt due alternatives and having no knowledge of caster gear I didn't want to risk taking it and not selling it.
All i heard at the first Blizzcon when they unveiled cataclysm was "we're making the game "fun", we're gutting all the talent tree's so we can have "fun" talents. Archeology is going to be a "fun profession." So far everything is lazy about cataclysm, not just the T11 bonuses.
Everything about this expansion outside of the raids have been extremely boring. 4.1 looks straight out of Square Enix handbook for lackluster patches, if you're a raider congrats on the cheaper enchants(which I welcome don't get me wrong) Outside of the run of the mil nerfs/buff's/mechanics changes this patch offers nothing to someone in full 359's + unless you're a mount chaser or heavily into alts/don't raid.
Guild challenges look stupid as hell can we say BORING! This only addresses one problem with the system which is capping too quickly on raid nights by the cap being extended but the major issue with the system itself is that it punishes the smaller guilds who are strict a 10man guild. Once your guild is past the heroic 5man grind not needing vp anymore your guild becomes ghost-town on non-raid nights(awfully hard to pug raids on alts). I think the guild leveling system is on par with SE gimmicks, its a shitty system that could have been done so much better.
I'm just not a fan of this patch because its FFXI quality and my guild will continue to be a ghost-town on non-raid nights which I can already see it leading to people in my guild eventually losing all interest in the game while we wait for each tuesday to come so we can raid/progress on heroic modes.
I don't care that they delayed the raid tier, I am actually glad they did because we don't need another ToC/Ulduar fiasco. I don't even think i'll even run the 2 troll heroics on my main at all. This patch will offer pretty much jack shit to guilds who pretty much count down the days until Tuesday rolls around so we can raid again.
Even w/the raid being in like 2 months from now (lol, it's not gonna change it from being ulduar/ToC replica). It's only 7 bosses, and ppl will be doing old content for achievements / HMs since Some HM stuff is BiS until HM of firelands.
Cata was a blast at first as it launched w/tons of content, but blizz can't keep up the pace and their balancing tactics in cata only make every class feel more and more alike (I.e boring). Also, it's gonna be about 7 months (from cata launch) to see firelands, and it's taking them longer to do 4.1 then it took em to release 3.1
The 10 and 25 man lockout system has killed raiding.
And I think it will, unless corrected, will lead to a continual decline in every area of content.
Agree on the 10/25 man comments. It was SO much better when you could do both. Hell, half the time shit doesn't even drop that you need anyways.
I agree also, as it also killed gdkp runs. I used to main raid (10) and do 25 gdkp runs on an alt or my main most of the weeks. Hell, my server's main gkdp run was better then most guilds lol.
All I heard throughout the end of WOTLK was how much better it'd be when you're not forced to raids 25s and don't have to play with the bads and you can finally just raid with your friends! and all that stuff. Now the raids sharing lockouts (but also loot) is killing raiding? Alrighty then...
But dood, if you could do a 10man and a 25man. That's double the chance of NOT SEEING YOUR LOOT EVER DROP. Instead of being sad and very angry once a week, you'd be sad and angry twice a week. Blizzard is looking out for you!
But yeah, this expansion so far is hella boring. I spend most of my time doing achievements in Outlands and LK raids and rarely ever go to any Cataclysm zone. Been working on pvp achievements, but that gets boring after a while, so I hop into arena to get global facefucked by warrior teams then log off and go play something on the PS3 for a bit or workout.
Their method of making the game "fun" by making every class non unique is getting tiresome. Sure it's nice to have a few classes with bloodlust is great, but ehhhhhhhhhh.
This was only true when 25mans and 10mans gave different loot, but you felt the need to gear up in 10mans for your 25mans that week or w/e. And it would be fine if Blizzard had not missed the mark on tuning 25mans down to 10mans and 10mans up to 25mans. Some fights are insane compared to their counterpart, and others are a snorefest. All I heard throughout the end of WOTLK was how much better it'd be when you're not forced to raids 25s and don't have to play with the bads and you can finally just raid with your friends! and all that stuff. I think they need to remove the lockouts. With loot sharing now in place there is no real point. At least 1/2 if not 3/4's of drops end up being DE'd anyways.
at the very least shit that's pugged relentlessly like baradin hold needs the 10/25 lockouts removed. Heaven help you if you aren't able to get on and pug it tuesday or wednesday. Plus, 10 min fight > ok, now what do i do the rest of the week? More stuff to do, please.
edit: i mean the shared lockout, not lockouts in general.
This is one thing that really bothers me. Blizz has been so scared to nerf / adjust content (well until 4.1) that some stuff has been left flat-out unbalanced. Pretty sure HM Valiona is still next to impossible on 10man and easy on 25 (for example). And 4.1 is getting overall nerfs but they still leaving some greatly unbalanced encounters alone
Sounds like you want to have your cake and eat it too. Either bite the bullet that comes with 25 man raiding for a better chance of an item dropping, or stick with your tight knit group and keep getting 2x spirit plate. I really don't understand how - if you are so bored with the current content - allowing you to do it twice per week will help anything. All it does is placate the whiners who don't see their loot drop and want another shot at it in a PuG. It would also completely nullify the incentive to do 25 mans in the first place
For the longest time H25 twin dragons was insanely difficult. It is one of the most terribly tuned encounters ever, and most top end guilds would agree with this, especially if you look at their logs. Every guild wiped to them at least 10 times a night cause of how random and awful the encounter was. The health nerf and the change to the portals made it simple.
We also had to change our strategy for a ton of different fights 3 different times because of hardmode changes. (Magmaw, Atramedes, Maloriak, Valiona, Omnotron)
Never said I was bored with the content /shrug. Just would be nice for stuff like BH for characters that don't have T pieces yet. Some nights we have enough to fill a 25 man group and some nights we don't. So it would be nice to do 10 one night up to a certain point and then do 25 for another.
