Firelands is taking longer and is half of that. Oh I know it's not going to be amazing, which is pretty damn sad that with all this development time we're going to get 5 less bosses then our first tier of raiding had...I mean, are you shitting me?

I hope Fireland's isn't just a remodeled Molten Core, or I will flip a shit if they spent this much time "developing" a few hallways and some lava. Man the game is getting stagnant as of late ever since they introduced lolhardmodes.

I just want something new to do. Bastion and BWD were so damn short, in terms of appearance. Hell I think Throne of Tides and HoO are larger instnaces, or at least have more going on in them.

Should just make HoO 10 man, make it drop heroics, make everything on fire and viola. Firelands.

HoO felt like a raid the first few times I did it. It is huge and epicly long if you do all the bosses.

I liked Ulduar / Naxx / Eye / 3 drakes HM's. They weren't "HM's per say, they were way's to do the fights that increased the difficulty w/o just added in harder hitting bosses that now shoot laser beams out of there eyes to rape ppl in one hit.

I've gotta agree 100%. I liked having the choice to do something to make the boss harder during Ulduar and 3 drakes and not just clicking on an option to now have the boss have more hp, do more damage and have some adds or fire or other stupid shit.

There isn't a huge difference between Uld and actual hard modes..but it just seems that with the introduction of hard modes, blizzard took it as a way to be very lazy with their development because now they can just put out an instance with 5 bosses, then say "well there's actually 11 bosses! The original 5, the 5 on hard mode and then the hard mode only boss! huyyuk huyyuk"

In that sense they got lazy with gear too. Not even different just +20 ilvl. I like running 10 man stuff even if 25 gave better stuff /shrug

They got extremely lazy with gear.

Every dungeon in cataclysm drops the same gear with better stats on Heroic mode, and the raids are the same too.

    I can't stand it.

I liked back in Ulduar where you had a mixture of 226, 232, and 239 gear, at the best.

You picked what was the best for you, not just "Oh, the item level is higher, so it's better" as it is now, 99% of the time.

My guild basically went into the toilet, people lost all interest in the game while working on hardmodes. People were only logging on for raid nights, most people weren't even having fun raiding being SSDD/going through the motions mentality. There was no way to salvage the guild when people were already bored of the content despite having to kill a few more hardmodes and 4.2 being in the summer turned a hell of a lot of people off.

It was so bad we couldn't even find suitable replacements to fill for those who departed.

Blizzard must have 5 people working on content updates but is all hands on deck when it comes to pushing an expansion out because after its out they go into 6 months inbetween tier mode with their skeleton crew while pushing the workload back onto titan.

I can completely empathize with this. I know that many people in my guild including myself do not have fun raiding right now, and for the first time ever I am only logging on WoW twice a week to raid. It's pretty funny considering during BC/WOTLK I played every day for long periods of time and had tons of fun during it. I'm not sure why blizzard suddenly started not releasing content, if I remember correctly most tiers really did not take that long until T10 which lasted over a year and now T11 which is poised to last something like 10 months(?). I can tell you one of the only things still driving me is the legendary staff as I've always wanted to get a relevant legendary in my time playing WoW, but with Firelands so far away now it seems pointless.

It's not even that. back when they had 10/25's dropping different gear, I could understand wanting to simply gear a bit since thats a shit ton to keep track of and players to look for in upgrades. But now, even after they made 10/25's drop the same stuff, they go the extra mile and even simplify gear to make stuff even easier on them. I hate how gear is now, every equal ilv piece has the same primary stats and just looking at secondary stats for BiS or w/e is boring. I liked it when there was feral tank leather, ect... or gear that had more agi at the sacrifice of less secondary stats.

You would think they would simply 10/25 drops as a way to make it easier for them to do gear.. but they did both

happened to my guild. HM's aren't the same as new content. I dislike HM's just because they make the normal modes of the next tier of content meaningless. HM halfus staff.. you can guarantee that won't be replaced unless there is another BiS piece (crit / mastery) in firelands HM's.. if not.. I'll keep the staff until next raid tier after that as blizz can do some horrible itemization on stuff.

My Guild cleared all normal content in less then 2 months of raiding. and after about a month of banging our heads against the wall on HM's ppl just got burnt out. And finding a replacement for ppl that doesn't set everyone back a few weeks of raiding is difficult if not near impossible.

There is also the fact that at least for most classes they DESTROYED secondary stats. Nothing really matters but ilvl at this point and upgrading from the same ilvl is pointless. I disliked the 10/25 system because of how blizzard implemented it, making it so there literally where no options for 10 man players in certain slots, but I never thought that they would somehow make the system even worse while fixing that. I was doing some thinking the other day about weapon enchants for a mage that really shows how much they have devalued secondary stats: In WOTLK, Black Magic was on par or better for a Fire Mage than +63 SP. In Cataclysm, Hurricane (Black magic v2) is WORSE than Sunfire the +50 SP Enchant released two whole expansions ago. That isn't even comparing secondary stats to intellect which is worth much more than even spell power...

Thats the biggest thing, and they have gone away from it completely since Ulduar because its too much time involved in naming stuff differently and giving things flavor or giving people options rather than the homogenized stuff we have now. Ulduar was the epitome of when things were the best with the game over the last few years.

This is pretty much what happened to us. We had about 3 people tell us within a few days that they wanted to take a break. Basically we'd have had to step back into normal modes just to be able to teach and none of us felt like wiping for hours on content we had on farm 2 weeks before.

In general Hard Modes were good back in Ulduar when they gave a little better loot, for completing an encounter in a specific way or without a little hand-holding. The hard modes were difficult because you had to wait for something to happen or complete a task before something happened. You had to work at a specific goal that was outside of the base goal of defeating the boss in the encounter.

Personally I believe that if we went back to the TBC way of life and had specific 10 man and specific 25 man instances and a few combo instances all would be a heck of a lot better. The level of content would be much tighter tuned and much more interestingly designed because of not having to continually design elements that will work with 10 and 25 man group makeups and capabilities.

But more than that, it would provide everyone playing the game with options and different activities to do at the end game. What WoW needs now (and has needed desperately for some time) is a secondary and tertiary end game model. Variation in what players have to do in the endgame. Why can we not go back to the 10 AND 25 model instead of the 10/25 model? Why can we not expand on the "mini world heroic bosses" model that they started and then quickly gave up on? Give us a 10 man world raid weekly quest that is phased and gives some real reward? Give us spawnable world monsters of both the 5man and 10man variety? For god sakes try and think outside the box instead of giving us the "House of Mirrors" raid instance every 6 months.

This is probably going to be a long post so here it goes.

My problem with cataclysm is the fact that the game goes completely down hill after hitting 85, the gearing up to raid was awful, I hated every minute of running cata heroics. The cata dungeons are, awful, not fun, chore, did not enjoy a single minute in these 5 mans unlike I did in BC and in wrath. In wrath I loved how fast the heroics were, I wouldn't of minded faceroll heroics but hard raids. The Cata reps are also stupid, Tol barad is quite possibly the dumbest zone in the game with the most cookie cutter dailies ever along with the most retarded spawn rates of anywhere in the game.

    - Archeology turned out awful, its basically MF'ing in diablo 2 except MF'ing is bugged and doesn't work. I really think Blizzard banked too much on thinking this is what the players were gonna be doing on their downtime from raiding trying to get the level 85 epics and it backfired horribly. I honestly believe people only did this because of the lack of shit to do.

    - Shared lockouts for 10/25man is horrible, in wrath I spent all my downtime raiding on alts, I never ran out of shit to do. I was out of shit to do within 1.5 weeks after cata released fully geared from heroics while waiting for others in guild to hit 85 so we could start raiding. I was not about to run those boring ass dungeons again on an alt.

    - The professions are awful, they took a big step backwards from wrath. Chaos orbs are retarded, why do some blue items need 1 and some need 3? 3 heroics to get certain 346 weapons made? LOL that makes no sense. Botting got way out of control, it's worse now than I ever remembered it, just check out vashj'ir or Twilight Highlands, full of bots.

    - Bugs galore, you can tell the B.team did this expansion, shit is way buggy in this expansion. Phased nodes that continue to go on unfixed(loldeepholm, Twilight Highlands.) Certain dailies still bug out like Glop, son of Glop where he'll leap away from you+shaman npc and get stuck causing him to evade and depop. I had this shit happen to me 6 times in 1 day, it blew my fucking mind. They still can't fucking fix maloriak freezing the god damn offtank even though thought they had fixed it, yet it still happens.

    - Balance issues all over the place especially in 10man heroic, bring the player not the class you say? Had my guild had a frost DK we would have downed 2 more heroic bosses.

    - Slow patches, you know theres something wrong when SE is putting out more updates than Blizzard is for WoW.

I could go on forever so i'll end it here, cata has started out really shitty. I know wrath had its problems as well like wintergrasp causing naxx to lag like fuck but I would still take that over the fail cata has brought at its start. Blizzard got lazy with what cata has to offer currently, wrath had the better release by far, had more shit to do on off-nights. I didn't have hardly any complaints at the start of wrath other than people not making that thaddius jump and the wintergrasp lag that made some nights unraidable but then again it got fixed rather quickly compared to the shit that still goes unfixed in cata.

I'm glad i'm unsubbed from WoW, I honestly don't think a content patch will change my mind.

to add to the list of things they broke:

My dad is a hunter, fairly casual, as guys his age tend to be. One day, someone had chromaggus as a pet, dad decided he really loved it, so me and a few of my boys decided to clear BWL so he could tame chromaggus.

hooo no. Razorgore says fuck you. How the ball-shit they managed to fuck up a boss in a zone they never touched for cata is beyond me. Razorgore randomly resists mind control and blows us the fuck up. Important bug? No, but it's incredibly lame. Blizz swears up and down they fixed it, but oh no.

I wonder this also.. how do you break a raid that hasn't been touched in YEARS? Wiped like 7x to that to help my friend finish his legendary before agreeing that the legendary wasn't worth the pain. Not only that. When you wipe in BWL.. you have to run back from the bfe graveyard even though there is one right outside the instance.

And lordender, you forgot to mention the Tol Barad escort daily LOL. fuck that shit.

Just makes no sense. A month ago blizz said they wanted smaller content patches (granted 4.1 brings basically nothing new to the game aside making Valor and everything else easier).. yet they keep delaying stuff to where mmo-champ was basically "shit ain't commin anytime soon so stop asking" lol. It's gotten to the point where blue posts mean jack shit, since they change their mind daily / weekly (almost as often as they hotfix classes). So what they say one day can mean the exact opposite the next

As far as things being broken, it's pretty common for changes made to affect other things that are unforeseen. However, being that it is Blizzard, you would think they would be testing like a mofo but you yourself said its a very old raid so maybe thats why they didn't test it? I don't know. I agree with most things that people are saying, unfortunately. The wife and I quit playing RIFT because she didn't want to upgrade her computer to play so we are still playing WoW. While I do like leveling and pvp, I wish they would add more flavor and style to the end game. I played FFXI for years and I can still recall all of my gear and my macros etc because I was so involved with that information. In WoW, more and more I'm losing interest in caring for gear/spec/etc. By that I mean I feel like everything is the same with just bigger numbers. Everything is shaved down to a fine point now with gear, specs, gems, chants. Without having options with raids, gear, specs, things get boring and redundant.

^ Pretty sure more and more ppl are feeling the same way. Unless blizz turns around and starts making some magic happen, which may be too late in-and-of-itself since I think ppl, in general, are getting burnt out on the WoW formula. I see this being the last "big" xpac for WoW. I mean WoW's numbers will prolly still dominate, buut even w/ cata there was no press release about how well the xpac sold (like there was for TBC and Wrath). And I think it's just going to start spiraling downhill.

It's not like blizzard is putting in any effort to make ppl want to keep on playing after all
