**Let me preface the rest of this post by saying I absolutely agree that Death Strike healing, in its current state, is far too good (mainly for frost DKs) and needs to be adjusted to require more thought and meaningful set-up from the DK**
Death Strike USED to heal more per disease on the target. If there's no disease on the target, it heals for the minimum-if the target has full diseases up, it heals for more. Someone at AJ mentioned also having it only work that way based upon presence. This is a balanced approach for a few reasons.
-Frost, which has the ability to death strike more than unholy, would benefit slightly less from death strike since it only has 2 diseases available. It also has zero disease protection. The max heal for Frost would be 13% (assuming both diseases are up).
-Unholy, which doesn't have the ability to death strike as often as frost, would have slightly bigger death strike heals since it has 3 diseases, and has disease protection to assure full healing. The max heal for unholy would be as it is now-15% (yeah-I realize 7+3+3+3=16...sue me).
-This prevents the DK from using death strike on the closes enemy target (like pets)-the DK would HAVE to use a global/globals to get full diseases on a target before trying to heal with death strike.
I mean-how could anyone ask for a more balanced approach to fixing death strike? It requires more set-up. It requires more meaningful use of resources. It balances death strike between frost and unholy. It doesn't mess with blood tanking.
The proposed Glyph of Dark Succor could read something like this:
Causes your Death Strike ability to always restore at least 7% of your maximum health when used while in Frost or Unholy Presence. The effect is increased by 3% for each disease currently present on a target, up to a maximum of 15% increase healing. (up to a maximum of 13% for Frost DKs, and a maximum of 15% for Unholy DKs).
