so... I ran BWD on my alt, killed omnotron, http://www.wowhead.com/item=59120 dropped, i won rolled but the raid leader gave it to a guildie instead because he said it's a better upgrade for him... and my tier shoulder is better.. and gave me an explanation on how tier is always BiS...
So i proceed to reply, so then wtf am i doing here bitch? i'm already 359, you just gonna give all the loot to your guildies?
Then i got kicked...
/sigh
Lol why bother with rolls if the RL is just going to override the rules based on stupid shit...
I hate this shit, because it's the same as my 10man except we never HAD the geared people to begin with, we got the 2nd stringers from the main group, and have tanks still not geared enough to even not die on Chogall at times...yet we try to push heroics because "In Firelands we'll need this gear!"
Game is 6yrs old and still Blizzard likes to pretend that RNG = Difficulty during fights. Doing Nef and healer gets tail swiped just as a crackle goes off and kills them = tank dies before I can BR the healer = wipe. Can work around that slightly I guess but it's still really annoying, though not as annoying as doing Alakir and having him lightning chain 1 side twice in a row and killing people.
Tail whip by ony or nef?
Ony
My group sucks at timing things. We just had our tank die at 30% on Nef because he took a breath+crackle+ w/e the fuck else for a grand total of 219k dmg because no one was calling out to slow dps or anticipate.
Not to mention no one other then me, dps, has the TB trinket.
Not really RNG then is it http://images.bluegartr.com/images/icons/mmithra.png
What he said, needs moar practice, nef is an execution fight.
Nef and alakir are the kinds of fights where ventrilo really shines when you have decent sheep (i.e. people that perform well when told what to do), having people call out stuff really helps the raid perform and anticipate stuff.
Edit: If baffles me the amout of people that still swears by tanks having millions of HP, they love to point my low HP when i call their dps crap and right after proceed to link me the overall damage done.
I don't know about other class, but on paladin, I usually have one cooldown for every crackles, and can times WoG to push me well above any "safety treshold". Unless the healer were sleeping for 10 seconds, it would takes some terrible bad luck to die. It happen occasionally, but I would put the blame on people not being on top of thing rather than RNG.
Also, it's definitively possible to recuperate after losing your tank. It happened to us yesterday at 40% (I was kiting the adds at the time) . I simply taunted nef while the other tank got battled raised, and we ended the fight just fine after. It got a bit messy on the adds since I ended up missing one fire, but other than that, there is usually a way to survives.
If you're losing someone every fights to crackles, there is probably something wrong with the healers in your group.
I'm the only person I believe in my guild/raid group with the TB Mirror Images trinket.
We're to do our first nerf this weekend after we finally downed Chim. I read up quickly on tactics but what is crackle? The closest thing I see is the Electrocute.
crackle is electocute, its just you get the massive blizzard warning "the air begins to crackle with electricity" like 5 seconds before it goes off, which is more than enough to shield wall/last stand/rallying cry or w/e you need to do to survive it. which is not difficult lets face it, especially on normal mode it only deals about 80k and can be resisted.
The biggest issues any raid will have on nef is when onyxia is up, because adds, onyxias discharge and nefarian at the same time can be very annoying that one unlucky tailswipe on your add kiter or being hit by electricity is annoying but after you get past p1, its cake.
If you have a frost dk, feral druid, or any plate dps, just mave them tanks the adds with a dedicated healers instead of kiting. It's much much easier, and will make phase 3 a joke (a perfect stack in phase 1 make a considerable difference for a group that is learning).
Also, tanking onyxia and neferian at 120 degree away from each other gives the adds kiter or tanks a kit of room, especially if neferian's breath is pointed slightly toward the outside (tails on the opposite side of the caster).
We use a hunter pet for nef adds. Works great.
Yep, we heal it some but the hunter helps keep it alive with abilities and whatnot.
a turtle/beetle pet is retardedly good at soaking damage. My mend pet ticks for something like 12.8k, combine that with -40% phys dmg taken cower and 50% shell shield, the pet is a beast.
I just quit a Zul'gurub run at Bethekk on my Shaman healer. Highest DPS was the tank at 9k. S.P/Hunter sitting on 7k. I did 4.7k with Fire Elemental totem.
Ret Paladin did 3.4k on both attempts.
fuck that shit.
And earlier I left a group on my Pala tank after barely downing Vexonis, using 1 Reincarnation, 2 Rebirths and 1 DK Battle rez. Yup. 4 Battled resses and we finished with 2 people alive. So then I leave, take a five minute break and queue again, take dungeon and wind in in the same fucking group waiting at trash near Mandokir. Why must these people persist and requeue? Clearly you're too shit for the instance so please fuck off
Did Mandokir for chance at mount then left again.
