It cannot be overstated the extent to which the RNG can fuck you on rhyolith.
'derpaderp I'll activate the furthest fucking volcano from me every time I have a choice for the first 3 minutes of the fight!'
'herp I'll spawn two volcanoes right in my turn path then moosh them so you can't get any more -armor stacks!'
hate that fight so much, alternating between 1% wipes and 40% wipes so nobody feels like they're getting better at it.
I really wish he wasn't a requirement for majordomo/rag. We'd just skip him every week. It has to be one of the worst designed fights in recent wow history. I'll turn him and he'll activate the volcano waaaay in the back, so i have to arc him 180 degrees and go across the entire damn platform to go toward it, all the while the raid is eating the extra damage. We wipe, and the raid leader of course looks to me wondering what happened. /sigh.
Rofl, I just got kicked out of my first 5man on hunter because I was "doing thing I wasnt being asked to". That thing was a "freezing trap" that was apparently bothering the tank...
I mean, seriously...freezing trap doesn't pull aggro, it can be broken at any time if it's a bother, and help healer in the best case. Why wouldnt I use it? I did 10 billions run as a tank, and not once did it ever cross my mind that someone was doing "too many CC"
When are you popping lust for it? we had this problem when we were trying and couldnt get the boss before he superheated, then we started doing lust at 50% when the boss had around 20 stacks and found him to drop super quick anyways, this also allows you to ignore the 4th add as they despawn at 25%
We are ignoring the 4th add, popping lust around 4:00 or a touch later to maximize dps before the first stack of superheated. With 3 healers we were still going way over 5:00 before pushing. With 2 healers we would push him just before superheated.
I thought Ryo wasn't supposed to activate volcano's behind him anymore... or is that only for normal? And I agree w/ all the hate for that fight. It's easy on normal but RNG can still fuck you over. terrible terrible fight. And its proof its terrible that blizz has had to nerf him a bunch just to make it less of a terribly designed encounter
Rhyolith attempts to prioritize activating volcanos infront of him, however this dosnt mean he wont fuck with you and activate one you just passed.
Pretty sure destro has no place any more. Not going to magically fix problems, but it'd be a start. Looks like a pretty solid comp other than that (assuming the feral is your 2nd tank normally and isn't a fulltime DPS, in which case that's a pretty weak spec also!).
Re: CC in heroics. There is such thing as too much CC, though 1 thing being CC'd isn't quite that. It's quite irritating IMO though when you have a solid group and 3 people all feel they need to CC every damn pack. A tank that doesn't want CC can easily break the 1, breaking multiples just gets irritating if you are trying to pull stuff back or otherwise lacking in a "Good" aoe cc breaker!
My complaint today is everything about this game and how much I despise what they've done to it leading me to question why I keep logging on.
No, I am not one of your DPSers. But it's okay, you're always right even when you're wrong. Speaking of, notice the community agreeing with me and not you recently (on the topic of druid healing, which afaik hasn't changed 1 bit, you still don't have any more cooldowns for sure!). Don't worry though, I'm wrong and you're right still, about everything. Not gonna shit this thread up anymore....so back on topic, Destro locks have no place in a raid (except -maybe- replenishment, but 2 other people in your comp had that IIRC), and most people do hit superheated during P2 (2 or 3 heal, afaik). Hitting superheated before you transition is really bad, but we've gotten kills even with that occurring so, eh? Sounds to me like your biggest problem is with phase2, and your DPS are not quite as hopeless as you think they are.

^ cannot count how many tank specs are in the raid. Also, assumes that the one particular spec I chose for everyone is the only spec they bring.
Also funny that you agree with me that hitting superheated significantly before pushing is bad dps, but you can't bring yourself to admit that I'm right, you've got to write a paragraph instead about how I'm maybe mistaken about something completely different.

Lock should be afflic/demo dualspec. Both could even be useful on Rhyolith depending where your raid opts to assign them. I like how your statement however completely avoids the fact that destruction is pure bad, so unless you're just clicking randomly on everyone's spec, it's a safe assumption that said lock uses destruction sometimes. Don't call me bad for assuming that you put up a used spec when someone asks for your damned raid comp.
Hitting superheated before you transition is bad dps. Still wiping isn't really bad, but it's still subpar healing and dps.
I have no idea what your counting tank specs thing is about. Feral is the only other possible tank spec...are you 2tanking Rhyolith? If so, I take it back, your DPS is fine and your strategy is dumb. For all I know, the dude could be cat only, and you have your normal 2nd tank sitting out for a 1-tank fight. Most 10mans I know of have 11-12 people, so forgive me for not knowing exactly how you run. You're really grasping here.
