Did the guy use avengers shield at all? Lol
Did the guy use avengers shield at all? Lol
I'm not saying Kaylia doesn't know paladin, but just that exact word brought me back such memories.
He did use Avenger's Shield but only when the target was safely out of the CCed mob's range lol
I play my Paladin (an alt) gracefully, shield pulls followed by Inquistion Hammers roar!!!~ 20k dps !
Currently I'm debating to quit 4.2 Paladin because I simply cannot stand tanking with a skirt, I might buy T12 hands and legs and then hopefully grab the body of Beth if I'm to continue playing...
I don't mind healing in a skirt, but as an all mighty paladin I simply cannot dps or tank, in a skirt!!!![]()
Had a warrior in randoms that pulled with a ranged weapon. All sorts of dumb in randoms.
GD flame orbs are fucking wiping us on staghelm. we keep getting them bunched up or in melee.
Just activated for a free 7 days. Find a guild, they need a dps for BH, jump to my alt warlock, pull 11.8k dps on Occu'lar guy, we wipe from not enough dps, breaks up after one try.
Oh how I love this community.
11.8k dps on Occu'lar is terrible (11.8 is bad in general) >.> depending on how much time is left, usually will give a baddie dps one more shot after explaining a few things and then kicking them if they still fail. But thats a big AoE fight, no class should be under 15k just by base of being terrible and only AoE'ing adds. If you end up putting together a group of a bunch of baddies though, its best to remake the group since a bunch of baddies can't do the fight and you will waste more time then its worth trying to teach ppl that may or may not lead to success
Flame orbs suck for us also, but what we just end up doing is eating more scorp AoE (go to like 9-10 stacks first time), and let each phase last a little bit longer (cat do an extra jump). 2nd scorp we usually do 7 stacks. By the time it comes to orb phase he is sub 10% and we just burn him.
If you rotate raid CD's and let the first scorp phase go much longer, raid CD's should be back up by the 2nd scorp (or close to it). burn Hero around 32/30% and he will go down down so you barely have to deal w/ orb phase
I'm still in heroic and a couple questing greens and not even hit-capped on this toon, haven't been playing for 5 months and it was an alt. I also wasn't AOEing, 91.2% of my damage was on the boss as I wasn't informed of just how important adds were, otherwise I could have thrown some seeds. There were two DPS only about 500dps above me and one guy died and ended up below the tanks (and was my dark intent target so I lost that midway through the fight). Boss was only at 7-8% with 25s to go with a death and then us wiping at that point. I would've been above 12k overall simply from the damage increase I get at low hp, if not 12.5k, had we finished the fight. I also could've hit my damage increase spells on the 2nd attempt and known to AOE...but this wasn't explained. Just one fail and quit.
What I've noticed on lightning's blade-eu (the server with paragon) is BH groups going with 3 healers, that was the case even for argaloth, that said, occular is way easier because the fight does not depend on 2 person (healers dispelling) so its doable even with some terribles in group.
Also doesn't make 11.8k any less terrible.
It sounds like you shouldn't of gone on that toon.. but outside of that, its the ldr's fault for not explaining the fight. takes a min before the fight to ask if anybody doesnt know what to do. and even when nobody responds (because I find that most ppl won't because they dont want to seem like a noob, ect...) I still take a moment to explain the fight in like 3 setences:
"Don't stand in puddles, pewpew boss. when he summons eyes everyone go to the marked location (use a raid marker) and AoE them down. If your a hunter remember you can't do a single tab since you cant dps the one in your face.""
He did a base explanation, but generally affliction warlocks can't do great insta-AOE so unless it's super duper important I leave AOE alone. I didn't cause any deaths, just didn't have the gear to easily pull it off. Without the one dps death we would've been tight on the timer and make it. Again, the problem isn't me or the lack of dps...it's just the one attempt and quit mentality.
Its the raid ldr's fault and it IS your fault and your lack of dps. yes, its a loot pinata boss, but that's why any intelligent raid ldr looks up ppl that say "I want to go" to make sure they have a decent ilv and that its not pvp gear giving them a high ilv. Saying its not your fault when your in greens, prolly rocking a 330'ish ilv, ect... is just denying the fact that you went on that toon expecting free gears and not realizing that it actually requires some semblance of gear. The fact is that any intelligent raid ldr would not have taken you, even if a guildie. There are plenty if times I have to turn down guildies or tell them to go on a diff character because the one they want to go on is gimp. It saves me the frustration and they appreciate the honestly. They usually know they can't go on that toon but try anyways to see if one of us will let them leech (which we do if the run doesn't involve any pugs)
And I don't anything about lock, but I do know every gets dual-spec. So affliction is terrible AoE you should have a 2nd spec. And isn't hellfire or w/e a universal lock move? (i have no idea on lock spells but I know they have that one fire AoE that i thought was universal)
Spoiler: show
Hellfire isn't good as affliction. Just need to use shadowflame and seed.
This. I used shadowflame, didn't tab-seed.
Again, 11.8k was my FIRST FIGHT IN 5 MONTHS WHEN I HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYING WOW. I would've done slightly better on a 2nd attempt, but there was no 2nd attempt because everyone went "fuck this I don't wipe!" and quit after one, which was the complaint. I know I was a bit subpar, as to be expected with my gear. But I wasn't the reason we lost (we had a healer death early and a dps death midway through) and everyone gave up without giving it a 2nd chance.
There's only one way to die against Occuthar, and that's not killing the adds in time before they blow. So yeah, you lost because of a DPS issue.

nono! I saw this pug healer shaman one day be by the tank.. and then run right down the middle of a puddle. literally ran right through the puddle jumping as much as he could thinking that he wouldn't take dmg as long as he was in the air.
neadless to say he wasn't in our 2nd attempt
