The same rules apply as did in FFXI. Predictive > Reactive, research debuffs you can dispell in every encounter, learn the trash because the fucking DPS won't, etc. It's just that everything happens faster.

Lately, odds is that you want to dispel every debuffs immediately unless you're fighting Valiona and Lich King. The only time where you should hold on your dispel is when another players is going to die before the next GCD

That's not really true. Sinestra and Elementium Monstrosity (technically) that's wrong on, Cho'gall it was debatable on heroic, but that strat seems obsolete now.

Making the only fights you actually dispel immediately on...Rag(lol?) and Alysrazor? Oh and Argaloth...

If we go into heroics, people will bitch quite a bit (and should bitch) if you dispel everything right away in ZG.

I don't know about sinestra, never done it before, but you should be able to beat the dps check on both chogall and Elementium monstrosity without that now.

I forgot about ZG Cauldron, but the odds is that it's not something he will read anywhere. And if you want to include 5man debuff and trash, there is a lot more case where the debuff should be dispelled.

Sinestra has a timed jumping debuff like Putricide. Except that when it jumps, it doubles as well. So you really don't want to go through more than 3 "rounds" of dispel over the course of the minute that it lasts; 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 8, expires.

However, 1 exception is enough to get rid of the rule. You can also perfectly heal through the majority of dispellable effects fine, so using the logic of "it's okay if you do it wrong" really does work both ways. A good player will quickly dispel shit that needs dispels, and not dispel things that don't, but Alysrazor for example, you don't need to dispel at all, it's just more mana efficient and easier to do so...Rag I guess you do, but the person shouldn't be getting hit anyway...Argaloth...do people fight him?

Anyway, just because the debuff "should be dispelled" doesn't mean it's right to say always dispel. Most debuffs that should be dispelled give you a reasonable amt of time to dispel them before it gets bad, whereas a lot of debuffs that are "don't dispel until the right time" are significantly worse to perform poorly on. The correct answer is what someone else originally said - research the fight and know wtf you're doing.

Not entirely accurate on the # of dispels, most people dispel around 10sec afaik, putting you at 6-7 per rotation (you also want to MD right before people have to start moving for orbs, even people that don't get targeted still dodge and mess up a MD). Otherwise ya, dispelling when it first goes up not only increases raid dmg, but is really gonna GCD lock you the entire fight also ;p.

The other healers in my guild don't understand to not heal the tanks when they're stacking shard buff, watching recent baleroc video and I got over 120 stacks of shard and they were both under 50 the whole fight

^ Some people just dont get the concept of not cross healing. You are either on the crystal or the tank..

The best was when we were starting originally, and tanks would die and "I was keeping shard guy up cause he was going to die" bitch no he wasn't, I was power infusioned and he had sub 8 stacks, dying wasn't possible.

Meh? I've always helped cover the shard people while healing the tank on h-Baleroc, tossing a PWS to virtually every shard target except during decimation blade to help carry bad healers. Furthermore when I end up switching off to shard person at 10-20% (pre nerf, doesn't happen at all now), I'd still heal the tank 'cause lol @ stacks.

That being said, if you are on shards and will eventually be on a tank at all, should def not be crossing to tank 'cause you need the stacks. But it's not always black and white.

Oh no, healing shards while healing the tank is absolutely fine (unless tank is going to die, as in my example), but they often heal tank while healing shards, which has been fine so far because we haven't touched heroic modes yet, but once we do... Ugh

I haven't killed sinestra yet, our first night of progression on it last night after destroying firelands on Tuesday. But doesn't dispelling at 10s cause the shit to multiply too much? 10 dispels every 10 seconds is pretty heavy. Keep in mind that this assumes no mass dispel.

Eww gross at Sinestra with no mass dispel. You're gonna have to start dispelling at like 11-12 sec tho I think (on the 8s, go later on the 1-2 for sure), or just 3heal maybe? I don't see how that's 2-healable without MD.

Well with current gear I can leave the first wrack dispel until almost 20s unless the breath lines up poorly. Yeah I would really like our DPS to step it up so we can 3-heal with only 1 wrack in p1 and 1 egg phase. Considering we're loaded with 378-391 gear that should be easily possible...but yeah, our dps

We just downed Sinestra tonight and while a majority of our 10m is 380+ iLvl it's still certainly not a faceroll.. We did it with 2 healers (Shaman/Pally). Took a while but we finally figured it all out >.<

Takes me back to my other thread where it's so silly how much easier t12 HC is now vs t11 HC, on most fights**

What are you talking about? I'm very well aware of these exceptions, that's why I listed some that are still significant earlier. The rule of thumb that debuffs should be dispelled immediately unless stated otherwise is 10 times better than doing the opposite, because leaving a bad debuff on will usually be far worse than dispelling another that is desired. Not to mention that the ratio of good debuffs versus bad debuff is very small if you include trashes.

The argument is ridiculous anyway. Do you seriously think that any healer would find himself in front of Sinestra or H.Ascendant Council without any explanation? This shit isn't going to happen. The most important exceptions will get repeated over and over, and the least important one are just going to annoy people at worse if you screw up (ie: dispelling a cauldron), but it can easily be corrected without any consequence.

This is not an excuse to do thing wrong, but in doubt, it will be the better option to just dispel, unless you're a fast reader and can continue clicking button while reading the label.

So we cleared firelands again last night, this night the rogue/mage/druid/dk token finally dropped on our ninth kill(the first one we've seen) obv me and the regular dk are happy. We roll, and our rogue who was 1. afk for since the beginning of Firelands and just yesterday come back. 2. already obtained a ring, dagger and agility trinket in the same run and 3. didn't even have 3 other pieces of t12 wins the token.

What absurd bullshit is this? "Oh hi! I heard there was a legendary in 4.3 for Rogues so I'm coming back now to use you people who have been working at firelands since it was released to gear me up in heroics and get me ready for 4.3". Worst part was the Guild leader actually played right into it.

You peoples need to care less about gear, it gets you farther in the long run. Not like you won't ever see it again
