I had the most awesome experience in LFR yesterday:
Raid starts, and it's me and another paladin tank. Before we can even setup, I see one DK rushing to trash mobs and he starts tanking them. I check and he has Blood presence and all.
"Do we have 3 tanks?" I ask, noticing said DK is marked as dps by the LFR.

"I WANT TO TANK" is the answer I get from the DK, enhanced by mighty caps. Followed by "I CANT LOOT THE BOSSES SO I WILL TANK".

He just kept on tanking, pulling without waiting, praising he was 12th on recount. Didnt help that half of LFR DS can be solo tanked.
To the question "Can't you just queue as tank?" he never answered.

Faster queue on dps, and he probably wanted gears for his frost spec.

Resto Druids trolling the BG, 3 of them running around with the flag, just HoT's and travel form away, staying outside. Died every time it got to 5 stacks right away, lol. And they had ZERO chance at winning, they were just running around and healing themselves for 23min.

We had a boomkin in LFR earlier that was doing similar dps. He went on to win two spirit necks off the first boss as well as the agi feral/rogue shoulders. Then on the second boss he won boots for feral. He sat outside the portal to skip hagara trash and the boss was pulled immediately following the trash so he never got to enter... which was fortunate as two tier pieces dropped that he probably would have won.

Okay, so I was under the impression that the LFR-system featured something like Loot-IDs which are separate from usual IDs. Went into LFR-Fall of Deathwing a few days ago, take the time to explain things to people with questions, do damage just fine according to Recount, then I'm kicked for whatever reason right before Madness of Deathwing starts. Went in with two friends of mine who then left by themselves since we wanted to do things together.

We then decide to do another run, get a terrible group, finally finish Madness of Deathwing after 2 hours or so, then we see that we cannot roll on any drops despite not having been present during the Madness of Deathwing encounter the raid we left took part in.

Asked a GM who said that it's working just as intended, which is kind of annoying to be honest. Sent him a few quotations of the description on the official website that kind of contradict that or are, at the very least, a little more than ambiguous, but still wondering if I just completely misunderstood the way LFR-loot works.

On that note, what's the point of the "Vote to kick"-Option if people don't even need to give a reason for the kick that I cannot see anyway? What are people who were kicked supposed to do if they want to know why they were kicked (unless they were afk or doing terrible DPS, of course)? I hardly see any point in a system that merely punishes and doesn't even allow people to possibly improve by stepping up their game in accordance with the reason being given at the time of the kick (aside from not inconveniencing the group/raid, of course).

I think it's something to do with not wanting to hurt these babies' tender feelings, but I don't see why that's such a big deal considering the amount of QQ and butthurt that's rampant pretty much everywhere else. Then again, the reasons people give are typically asinine anyway, such as "A:SLKJ:GKLJG" or "lol" or "poop" or some equally retarded shit, never seen a VTK reason that was legit, whereas if there was a drop-down menu that let you choose an option you could send the guy on his merry way with a stock reason like "Low DPS" or "Not following directions."

How many people have to vote yes on a LFR VTK? Seems like getting that many people to agree would be super difficult.

There is a loot-ID. When you go into a LFR group it'll tell you what bosses you have looted from. I joined a madness LFR group on the final encounter once and the ID didn't transfer over to the next madness LFR group ID, where I was able to loot the first three bosses in the instance.

So I have no idea what issue you're having. Maybe it's different if you're kicked out.

- Queue to LFR as all roles available (tank, dps, healer if you're lucky)
- Refuse to perform the role assigned to you, and just stick to what you prefer since you don't give a shit
- Gain "Role Bonus" on all available loot
- ???
- Profit

Pretty sure it doesn't. Certain classes just get to roll on two different sets of gear.

Both feral cat and boomkin Druids, for instance, can lot on each others gear sets because the game has no idea which DPS class they're coming as. It just knows you are DPS.

I have never seen a vote to kick window (maybe mine is glitched?). I thought it just needed many people to manually trigger the vote in the menu to kick that person.

To be honest, I don't know why you got kicked. The only time I've seen that happen is when someone was afk or was purposely wiping the group with early pull. Maybe you annoyed a large guild group somehow...or something like that.

My experience with LFR group is very positive in overall. We had crap dps this week, but people actually listened. They even stopped dps'ing the add on the spine at 5% and waited 30 secs until we got 9 stacks.

Did it on hunter last week, 2 swords. Did it on paladin right after, 3 bows. I wasn't happy.

Not 100% sure, but I just did an LFR Madness and the DPS (assigned role) Paladin got Role Bonus on Sould Drinker, and he was sporting tank gear/spec full time.

I can accept Soul Drinker being a DK and Warrior weapon of choice, but Retribution as well just doesnt make any sense.

When I seek as paladin tank, I can roll (with bonus) on any strength gears. It's stupid, but I'm not enough of a dick to do it.

Vote to kick option is hysterical since once you get the 5 votes to kick nobody even bothers to look at who is actually being kicked so they 90% chance are successfully kicked. I usually do LFR w/a bunch of guildies so if somebody pisses one of us off (like the douchebag pally who was threatening to report me for me rolling on tier helm when I alrdy had it because according to him doing such a thing is a bannable offense) we get em kicked. And usually it always ends up making a bunch of ppl leave since they all qued w/that specific person. It's hysterical... My guild has cause shit like 1/4th+ of a raid to leave because we vote kicked somebody lol
