Sick of random BGs with retarded players, and people actually shun pre-mades like it's genuinely a pathetic thing to do.

I actually had a chance of joining an openraid 40 man HK farming today when the ass hat canceled it. I mean, at least pass leadership over so the rest of us can go or something. And if you're going to get 39 other ppl to sign for an event at least make sure you yourself can fucking attend.

75k to "of the Alliance", anyone got any good methods for farming HK's?

PvP in this game is just not interesting to me anymore, I've got a pretty well geared hunter and a resto druid in pvp blues/some epics. On the hunter I get really frustrated because the randoms (not sure if it's the horde in general or just my battlegroup but oh my christ they just dont get BG objectives) that I'm forced to rely on are completely retarded, so I started putting effort into gearing my resto druid but get 1-shotted endlessly in lower end gear. As a druid healer I still manage to end up in the top 2-3 in healing because of the good HoT/AoE, but dying constantly just isnt fun, especially when the dumb bastards in PUGs will just ride on past you when you're sapped.

Obviously the answer is to stick with it and soldier through the crappy earlier period to get the good gear, but fuck having a shit time because of the poor design process that holds grind above player skill, bring on GW2 pvp where gear isn't important. Honestly you'd think 8 years in they'd have realised that players in a pvp environment should be on an equal footing and be rewarded with cosmetics for their success.

EDIT: I posted in wrong thread

Random/weird question but we're still stuck on spine...

I've suggested the following tactic tonight, although we only did it with 1 attempt, and I'm unsure if it's just a catch 22:

After killing a tendon, I ordered my group to kill a corruption and stack on it ASAP and start DPSing the closest corruption (2 benefits here -- spawn the next big add for use and also minimise grip time). This saves 15-25 odd seconds as usually we'd blow up a second corruption, which seems to take a long time, before stacking.

Is this a good idea? The guild insists to kill 2 and try to mop up the bloods but it's random at best if I manage to kite the 2 big adds over the bloods, and then stack with the group to roll. We seem to take a bit extra long during that period where I feel the extra healing/effort could be spent elsewhere.

So it's a case of trying to mop up bloods and be successful/unsuccessful, all at the same time the bloods are beating on the blood tank/healers, or roll it as soon as possible to get the next bit moving.

    So the catch here is:
Risk not mopping up as many, causing more adds to deal with later, but saving approximately 90s

    or...
Mop up as much as possible
damage taken by raid during the mop time is increased
(maybe) another healing debuff is applied to some players
Increase encounter length by approximately 90 seconds, assuming 30 seconds to kill 2 corruptions, mop and roll

You need to mop up the bloods, in fact the best scenario is when a corruption dies during the tendon so you have a 3rd one to mop with.

What you need to be aware of is that a single person will prevent a roll, it takes the entire raid on one side. So, you can have everyone stack near (or in, depending on your healer strength) a dead corruption while they kill the 2, and you stack on the opposite side.

Then you, as the only person preventing the roll, move across the spine with your amalgs and mop stuff up on your way into the stack, you'll get the 5 second countdown started as soon as you cross to that side of the spine.

Also, you're going to have a shitload of bloods on the 3rd plate, but if you bring them all into the middle and clean them all out right *after* your roll, they won't make it over to the holes to respawn before the fight's done.

Ya i see what you're saying, it's just that it seems a lot of time is wasted or ... I think I just realised what's happening. When the leader shouts stack, everyone jumps on top of the wound, but I have not stacked yet (still kiting the hideous) because I have to wait it to spawn and get some threat on it. During this time when I'm mopping, the raid is already stacked on top of the wound (3-5 seconds there) followed by me actually stacking on the same side and then rolling (another 5 seconds) which causes tremendous raid damage.

I'll see if we can rig it a tiny bit more, like have them stack between the wounds until the 2 spawn.

Also, I'm trying to swap positions with the blood tank again. I can clearly remember on a few attempts a few weeks ago I was blood tanking, and I was wiping out the bloods as they come with next to no effort. By the 3rd plate we actually had maybe 2-3 bloods only. With the WAR tank he not putting out enough DPS (which is normal) so I feel the overwhelming bloods are what's causing us problems here (not to mention their AOE threat being balls -- I recall stealing every blood off him on the 3rd plate lol, simply by spreading diseases and blood boiling, then death and decay)

well, in theory the damage from standing on them is not that much, but there tend to be quite a few bloods dying around then just from the aoe used to pick up adds, and if you get any nuclear pulses people are probably going to die

are you guys aware of how the earth buff jumps across the spine? your whole group should be used to hanging out on the opposite side of spine from the tanks anyway

generally I find the best way to do this to be:

everyone, including the blood tank, on opposite side from you, close to but not in the middle hole
    (extra step can go here)
you personally call the stack as you're moving across, hopefully you've got the amalgs balanced on amount of bloods, and pick up as many as possible on the way to the hole right before he rolls, so that if one hits 9 you get one pulse at most

the extra step you can do there is after the 2 corruptions are down, before you gather to stack, get the healing debuffs cleared and you can clean up bloods in a controlled environment

really the overall time it takes to kill the boss doesn't matter much, anything that makes the fight smoother and safer can't really be a waste of time (outside during the tendons, obviously lol)

Gotcha. Me calling out the stack is actually a neat idea, since I'll have control of the big add and tell them when to stack .. otherwise currently the leader calls out stack and everyone jumps on wound (start damage), and I am not even there yet as I am still mopping.

We do know of the earth buff "trick" -- I often wonder why we can't blanket the whole raid, or at least tanks and the healers with it. We only waste that extra 30s at most. At the beginning we spend about 30s making sure each tank has 2.

most likely your guy is watching the healing debuffs and calling the stack when they look good, but that actually doesn't even matter if you're not killing bloods during the actual roll and don't get multiple nuclear pulses

BGs need a minimum item level. Players in wrath greens(yes wrath) aren't healable let alone worth the mana to keep alive. Why didn't the idiot devs think "oh, if we're putting ilevel requirements on dungeons, why not put some on random pvp too?" around 312 would be fine I think. They're still not a player worth a damn, but at least they make decent targets and live long enough to CC some people(sometimes).

I'm still kinda clueless as to how these players made it to 85 in the first place.

players with 80k hp. add this to the list of "Stuff that's wrong with PvP"

Ya there is, at higher levels

I can't enter BRC on my Warlock at 80 because it's only 144 ilvl lol

Really, because I distinctly remember leveling an alt not too long ago and not having enough item level to queue for Stonecore, or the other 84-85 normal dungeons.

logged that char to confirm, 272 for normal stonecore/VP, 305 for GB HoO and Lost city of tol'vir.

Unless he meant lower levels (Deadmines, Ragefire, that swamp cave) ... then yeah it there's no requirement there.

85 pvp is the only pvp that matters. all other brackets are jokes.

yeah normals have a requirement too, which sucks because heirlooms have no ilvl so you gotta just save shit in your bags to get into dungeons.

oh well we killed spine now. oddily enough, i changed my playstyle a bit which i think made a difference. i was aggressively killing bloods this time regardless of platform lol

made a somewhat good difference towards the end

As an spriest Im usually channeling two mind sears max on the blood, then again, thats mostly to keep the WoUs stacks up. Our unholy dk usually hits around 70k dps on that fight from spamming the fuck out of pestilence.
