I've been wanting to give WoW a serious try since I'm bored with FF, but none of my friends play, and none of them want to start playing so I can't find anyone to do RaF with me ><.

glitches + lag
hyper-homo-gay-uber lag today while we were attempting (and making some progress on) Heroic northern beasts. Our last attempt before we decided to can it before we lost even more wipe-count had our top 5 at 2.2k-2.5k dps (due to lag).
Validate me!
Guild is running 10-mans three times a week, and someone always has to sit out, due to too many for 10s and too few for 25s, so we rotate out; who gets in is somewhat random and decided by the GM. Tonight, some friends asked for help with Koralon, and I said I couldn't help on my druid; I needed to save my lock for my guild. Then I offered my 80 DK, who doesn't raid at all (specifically is not allowed to, being an alt, being in the alt-designated rank in the guild, and being a DK, of which we have enough), and isn't used for anything in guild except the occasional Naxx guild fun-run specifically for alts. My friends said fine, better than nothing, and I go on my DK. Then mention to my GM how easy Koralon is (still on my DK; he knew I was in there on my DK alt), as long as people know how to stay out of the fire. I get no reply, but think nothing of it.
Not five minutes later a sticky forum post appears on our website, saying "please don't lock yourselves to VoA, it's uncool; we're supposed to run it as a guild."
Passive aggressive bullshit over a toon that is express prohibited to raid - wtf?!
VALIDATE ME, BG! >![]()
Tell that bitch to go fuck himself, if he want's you to save your lockouts then he need's to be a pro-active motherfucker and make sure everyone and everyones alts is motherfucking guaranteed to get a full run of everything, every week.
That ok for ya?
I can see this being an issue the first Koralon lockout (i.e. save the rest of your guild from PUGs and just get the clear achievements quickly) but after that it's free-for-all, who wants to keep coming back to claim WG/kill Koralon the same day every week?
How can you even enforce a standing 'guild runs only' VoA when possession of WG isn't going to happen at a guaranteed time during your raid calendar?
Why run guild runs of VoA 10 anyway?
You're pretty much guaranteed to have people have to roll for stuff then, just do it on your own and make groups of 1 of each class.
Now for my random complaint:
GDKP run leaders that don't know what the fuck they're doing. Hey guys, let's pull sapph25 with 2 healers, both in 200-213 shit, then insult them the entire time.
And then say "nuh uh, all of group 5 is healers!"
... when group 5 has 2 mages and a shadowpriest in it. And second on the decurse list is a guy with 3, the first being one of the healers.
Logged on last night to join up on a CoS run being put together by some guys in my guild who only needed a DPS. It was the H-Daily, and I need it for my Proof of Demise achievement, so win all around.
Except we got in, and our healer DC'd after Salramm and never came back. We had an SPriest with us (I was on my boomkin), so he swapped to Holy, but it was made of fail fail and more fail. We lost Arthas 3 times on the way to Chrono-Lord Epoch. In that process, I died 4 times because even though I was holding back a LOT, the DK tank couldn't keep hate off of me.
After the third fail, the DK and priest (who were my guildmates, and apparently they're friends irl from what I know) magically DC'd at the same time and never came back. Awesome.
I got to do my first rank demotions in guild. They both went from Member to Trial Member for ninjalogging, and the next time it's a /gkick. Douchebags.
...boy, does my face have egg on it.
My GM apologized to me for offending me, basically told me I could do w/e I wanted on alts, and said that he meant to explain to me he was annoyed with 5 others who managed to lock themselved on their mains (a couple of which have no other 80s), and when I mentioned to him I was in there on my alt, he remembered he was supposed to make a forum post about it. So bad timing and misunderstandings ftl!
My random complaint: I'm an overly defensive fucking moron.
Well shit, I was pretty impressed with myself for that perfectly excecuted rant I wrote too. Poopsticks.
No, you really aren't. You took observed information and made a reasonable response from it. When you found out more information you adjusted your understanding and changed your position.
This is what a normal, sane person does. The problem is that there are so very few normal, sane people left in the world, and even fewer in video games that you have nothing to compare it to.
Now if you said they were a liar and they were out to get you still... then you might have problems.![]()
I have now gotten Two sun touched Satchels, Three mounts, and 3 Pets from H MGT without seeing one fucking Orb of Sin Dorei
While questing in Feralas I noticed that Ysondre was up so I make a joke in guild chat about everyone getting there asap and bring their nature resist. Not a single person got it or knew who Ysondre was. I think I've been playing wow too long lol.
zomg noooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Armor penetration being nerfed in 3.2.2
Ghostcrawler has announced that armor penetration (ArP) is being nerfed in the upcoming Patch 3.2.2. It's an early notice to players who plan on investing in armor penetration gems. Many raiding melee players (along with Marksman hunters apparently) have begun focusing exclusively on armor penetration without caring about other stats. While the mechanics of ArP can be complicated to understand, the basic understanding is the more ArP you have the more damage you deal. Heck, a Feral Druid in my guild has been known to pass on upgrades here and there primarily because it lacked ArP.
Again, this is mainly a nerf to PvE raiding but it could end up affecting PvP slightly as well. It's not expected to completely rock the arena world or anything. The worst thing that could happen is Priests (or other soft targets) like myself will survive a few seconds longer against melee heavy teams, or people like Rogues have it worse against Plate. I guess from my perspective it could be viewed as a buff!
Note that in Cataclysm, armor penetration will be removed as a stat as it has been deemed confusing in regards to its use.
never gonna get to go MM again ;_;
