Wasted a ton of gold screwing up gemming. I decided to make my PVP offspec I never use into combat since I've been mutilate forever and wanted something new and I got a gear drop that pushed the DPS close enough for combat to make it work. Gemming straight ArPen is best for the combat spec and for the gear that I will only use with combat they get those gems but for the gear that's on both specs it was a bitch finding the best balance. Screwed up a bunch of gems because I put the nightmare tear (for meta requirement) on the wrong piece and had to re gem a bit. After that I realized I put the i245 item in my SS rather than the i232 version which meant that that gear is no longer best for me to use and it was the gear I had the nightmare tear problems with so all that gemming on that item and it's not even being used anymore. Oh and I guess an icescale leg armor is wasted on it too.
At least my alt is a JC but it was still annoying. I also made too many AP gems at first when I needed a few of them as arpen, so now I have to sell those. Screwed the first respec up too but that just cost me 20g, just a bunch of frustrating.
Why is haste shitty for non rogues btw? And how come haste gets better the more you have, I didn't think the growth was exponential like it is for arpen.
It's the same principle as ArP; as you get more rating and the sum total effect it has approaches zero, the benefit of the effect accelerates.
As for non-rogues, it's not inherently bad but when you've got a base attack speed of 1.0 it's very low impact.
It seems that way, but it depends on how you're measuring it. You're not successively subtracting 1%-1%-1%-1%-1% with each point, you're subtracting a sum total 5% from base. The difference between 3.6*.99^5 and 3.6*.95 is significant in the end result of the math.
In all honesty I think ArPen is subject to the same change in perspective...because armor and how it applies to mitigation isn't actually scaling, and therefore shouldn't scale when reducing, either. Each point of armor has the same effect as the one before it and the one after it, even though they apply lower amounts of total % mitigation. Best I can figure is that when measuring dps gains and relative improvements from item to item percentage gain is the only meaningful way to compare them, so it creates the accelerating effect we observe with ArPen.
Dezz: I still have a good amount of it, I don't avoid it and it's not completely useless. But it's still 3rd fiddle to hit/crit/exp by my count (at least until you get perilously close to the caps on those), not to mention gets me killed a lot faster in situations with high damage reflecting shields lol >_>
Haste is ~= Crit more or less. Expertise and Hit are worth less than you'd expect, though not capping them can result in "lower valleys" in your DPS which is sometimes not ideal.

EP values for my particular druid, haste slightly edges out crit.
Hmm, I guess there's a certain AP point where Haste accelerates enough to be more meaningful than the others?
Come to think of it from what I was looking over earlier, none of my gear has Exp on it at the moment, and probably some ~300 haste rating...and I'm still pulling 6k, so that same point must have snuck up on me >.>a
Tears of the Vanquished.. I've seen about 6 of the tanking trinkets now. ; ;
You should definitely look into getting the t9 head in any form at the least, and the 232 or 245 boots out of 10m. I miss my t8 2pc clearcasts. Omen of Clarity is the single most powerful DPS talent for feral, believe it or not.
Yeah I already miss the 4t8 SR duration, I'm not going to like losing the 2t8 especially when 4t9 isn't all that impressive
4t9 will be beastly for tanking though. I'm trying to get my Triumph trinkets and accessories out of the way before buying much slot gear, hoping to get some trophies along the way as well before IC comes out so even if I can't buy everything now I'll have the trophies on hand and can spam dungeons for the necessary badges.
Sort of unrelated, 4t10 is going to be holy shit for tanking; a damage reduction cooldown every 30 seconds :D~! makes me wish I had the spare talents to put into KotJ.
And yet with combat rogues already dancing the line on expertise, Blizz puts expertise on TWO of our tier 9 pieces and one of our tier 8 pieces, which means now matter how much awesome leather drops, if it has expertise on it we're not exactly 'sharing' it with druids unless we're willing to drop set bonuses and wear some off-set stuff to subtract from the excess expertise. This isn't as much an issue in t9 (if t8 had 154 expertise rating on it there would have been a revolt) but I see again t10 has expertise on the tier gear for rogues.
Meanwhile, druids see one piece with exp for t8, t9 and ZERO for t10. Gosh I wonder if all that ICC offset shit's gonna have too much expertise for rogues on it to help dem bears n cats. They've got their numbers completely reversed between cats and rogues, and it's lead to some pretty fucked up itemization overall. Won't be long before two pieces with expertise on it will be too much for combat rogues.
While your chart makes sense mathematically, I prefer other stats to haste since they will work more heavily in my favor against anything that moves, has knockback, or forces me to separate from it. The second I'm not on its ass, benefits of haste are lost.
Also, crit will benefit your bleeds and melee hits, haste wont (though your crit is arguably high enough).
edit: to be more specific, I understand no stats are useful if you are not hitting anything, but I'm referring specifically to your swing timer, and how fast swinging things are more likely to have the swing timer on standby by the time one can even react.

Guess who got impaled like 3 times in a row on Anub later in the instance?
reaaaal men of geniuuuuus...
mr. stands in the fucking poiiiiiison!
"what's killing meeeeee!"
fuck you for getting that bud light commercial stuck im my head.![]()
I played this past week on a shitty computer and had every setting as long as you can go and it was pretty hard to see poisons and fires, especially with the lag. That guy was probably an idiot since he got impaled so often
Just look at the timestamps though, no amount of latency should prevent you from noticing the amount of damage taken over time--he even healed himself while standing there! plus a guy screaming at you for 40 seconds should be ample information that you need to strafe for 3 seconds.
So to follow up. The strangest thing happened. Right after the GM split, his RL friends (our entire officer base) suddenly decided to leave too, but for totes legit reasons, ofc.
Thankfully, my guild in general is pretty awesome, and we all pretty much just sat down together and everyone voted for a new GM and new officers. What they old leadership base all neglected to do, however, was leave behind any useful info at all. We have no administrative control over our website or our domain name, and we're currently trying to figure out how the webdkp addon works. At least our vent belonged to a member (who's now an officer). But yeah. Any attempts at contacting any of the former officers or our GM has failed.
GG, not just leaving us in the dust with no warning whatsoever (they all made "lulz laters!" messages on the forum, then never logged on again), but also failing to leave behind any information whatsoever to make the leadership transition as smooth as possible.![]()
Could just rename the guild with the new leader, webspace is cheap, could make a new one.
Most basic websites can be bought/paid for at like $3.99 a month or so (and using phpbb since its free!)
