Fuck this Turkinator bullshit. I'm getting up at 7 am tomorrow (that's like 4am server time) to do this. I really liked the guy this morning who was like, "Killing turkeys is even more fun since I got the Turkinator achievement!" in general chat in Elwynn, as he ran in front of me smiting a turkey. t(-.-t)

(At least all my toons will have 300+ cooking by the time this is over.)

I don't get why everyone hates this achievement. I think it's just poor target management. Just make a /tar Wild Turkey macro and run around hitting it. I did it during primetime with like 10 other people running around doing it horde side and didn't have any issues with the macro.

Unless there's a gross difference in server population, but I seriously doubt that's the situation. I don't know if it's quite as feasible to do it Alliance side or how spread out the turkeys are, but around Tirisfal they're everywhere and it's really quite hard to butt heads with other people doing the same thing.

I think the problem is exacerbated by folks trying to get to 350 cooking with the turkey recipe, which keeps people out in the turkey fields until they have 100 turkeys, let alone the 40 in a row for the achievement. Multiply that by a high or max-pop server and it's pretty awful. It'll probably get easier during the week with folks leaving for work/school and coming home at different hours, but it was agony over the weekend.

In Shadowform, is an instant kill, but even at low-pop time, there were like a ton of people running around Elwynn on Ner'zhul. D: I got a tip on a good spot to try for it, so I may try that tomorrow morning. We'll see how that goes...

That's probably true, though I'd also wager it's compounded by the fact that people don't realize that the turkeys are spread as far around Tirisfal and Elwynn as they are, leading people to make it needlessly worse by confining themselves to a tiny area with a bunch of other people.

Using tracking food, a tar macro, and a 40 yard instant, as a holy pally with a 30 and a 20 yarder in case stuff was on cd, I still ran out at 25+ at least times, even using aura mastery with crusader aura when there was nothing real close, simply due to times when I'd cover a *HUGE* area and not a single one being up.

Maybe it's just a result of poor turkey placement and roaming alliance side? idk

I'm not saying that server population and all that doesn't factor in or anything along those lines, it just seems like a lot of the people having the most issues doing the achievement are alliance side on any given server.

I laugh publicly in the face of anyone who brags about their amazing dps and they link overall damage to prove it. Anyone can inflate to 7k+ in naxx gear just by aoeing trash packs. Meanwhile I'm over here doing 6k to a single target.

Blizz is nerfing Eclipse (most likely as a direct result of WiseEclipse). They're nerfing the 2pc t8 bonus too, since most balance druid are rocking 2 pc t8+2 pc t9 because it's that good. Sad boomkin is sad. *sigh*

Did anyone else's server randomly crash last night around 6:30PM ST?

I was in the middle of the Sons of Hodir quest line, rescuing proto-drakes and picking up frozen refugees or prisoners or viking porn stars or whatever, and I just froze and was booted. For an hour after, I checked and I could log on, but my server and a bunch of other ones were unavailable for play.

I just worry about the viking porn stars stuck in the talons of my rescued proto-drake all night. That can't be comfortable.
