Gearscore is a fucking stupid addon. Thankfully that retardation hasn't quite gripped my server yet.

I have the same exact problem. Fucking Gear Score or some new bullshit they came up with. I send a whisper to a guy running a 10man ToC which I assumed is far easier than the "Grand" version and he asks me what my GS and if it's not over 4000 he won't take me. So I google Gear Search put myself into the thing and I score 2100. Which is total ass considering I had the best gear possible pre-Ulduar. Maybe the gear change is phenomenal in Uld but I seriously doubt bringing someone in BiS from a previous patch would screw your group over. : /

gearscore mod is not the same as the various websites, the score is about double what the most popular sites will say

so your gearscore according to the mod is probably ~4200

Yea, compared to all the other websites that have a score, like warcrafter or wowheroes, gearscore is off the charts. Confused the fuck out of me when it started taking over on my server and people were advertising 5k gs.

EDIT: Oh wow apparently there was another page to this thread. But yeah, gearscore only tells you if they have to gear to do it, and I hate it when people mistake gear for skills

I'm only warrior, which means sundering -.- but only 2 other 2H users and if justicebringer drops going to try to manipulate them into giving it to me since paladin is already using a 255dps and arp=war ;p

Gearscore is just a function of your item levels sum totaled, it's really rather hilarious that it's even a metric considering how easily it's abused.

Man it's ridiculous how good those cloth boots from HToC are. I remember looking at my 25man Malygos Boots and going "The hell..I spent months in a guild doing Malygos and now there's a 15min dungeon that drops way better crap." : /

I doubt it, just going on past experiences. outside of icy prisms frozen orbs are usless, and the same goes for runed orbs. so it'll be useless, unless people are going to want toc crafted gear later on, that is. (for alts or whatnot). even then, you'd be making more gold selling now before the new stuff hits anyways.
