I've been spamming HoR normal since I want the i219 shield and tank cape. If you don't do raids regularly its a bitch to get upgrades for either slots (well, I could get Platinum Mesh Cape, but there's nothing for shields). I feel like I've turned into some gimp carrier/buffer. At least I have a friend priest who can heal me but pretty much every group I've come in, I have either gone first or second on the dps as the tank. Usually we don't even get 10k dps as a group. Worst part is I have yet to even see my stuff drop and I've seen green/blues get shit all the damn time. Apparently its a rule in every game that the gimps get the cool stuff first. On the bright side, at least I get 3 triumphs every HoR normal I do. So when I get my 245 tank trinket, I'm probably gonna save up for that stupid valor emblem cape, so I can see the cape drop in the next run after I get a replacement.

Your problem is that you're doing normal mode. I understand that normal is what drops the items you want (and I sympathize about the itemization problems; Blizz really dropped the ball on a bunch of slots for pre-raiding/non-raiders), but you're not going to get remotely good players in normal mode. Considering how easy it is to spam Heroics and get geared for T9, and I'm totally guilty of doing so, most of the people who'll do normal dungeons are so poorly geared that the dungeon finder won't let them in.

Occasionally you'll get some good people in normal (even shitty geared ones). Heck, I was doing 3.5k dps before it would even let me enter PoS HC.

Oh yeah I've definately seen decent to good dps even in the normal HoR's. But there's still a lot of them that either just don't know how to play in general or don't know how to play their class. Things like Boomkin's or Warlocks that only use AoE spells even when there is only 1-2 mobs in range. Or a Hunter who stays in Aspect of the Cheetah for some reason.

I really need to find a more progressive guild...not that we don't complete content, but I feel like it's on the backs of a very small group of actually attentive people while everyone else just kind of hits buttons and manages to not die. Days where we have less than 25 it's questionable if we can even attempt anything harder than Onyxia.

We ran ToC last night and I was offering minor suggestions to some folks, like having the warlocks charge up on twin valks with light essence and hellfire...not until one of them went "Holy crap it works!" did any of the others even bother trying it. And trying to get DKs to use AMS for RP boosters is about the same thing.

Are you sure you can still charge up? I thought that was fixed in 3.3? Given I haven't even done twins since (just jarraxus must die)

Were they pvp geared? I've also noticed that, and I'm not exaggerating, 80% of warlocks do terrible dps. I'm not sure if the class is bad in dungeon settings and with the random feature I party with more than normal but if a warlock can break 1500dps it's a miracle.

I'm at 5300 gear score on my lock, and will be the first to admit things changed significantly with 3.3 patch, that or recount is not right (i know that's not true, but i'd like to think there is some other excuse)

pre-3.3 I never did less then 4k even in 5mans... last night 2900 was me focusing on OK

They made changes with destro (making one of our bigger direct dmg spells a dot), but swapping to affliction makes it worse for short term fights. None of our dots tick more then 3 times which kills dps in 5man's.

of course 1500 or less is terrible... I could walk around using aoe's on single targets and probably break 1500

I routinely pull 4-5k dps in heroics as my affliction warlock. Bosses live long enough to get a rotation and a half off and just spam your seed all over the place for trash.

I've not seen any hotfixes to the contrary, and like I said one of them said it worked...

This random group feature is getting slightly annoying now, its putting me in groups with people who practically look like they just dinged 80 and selected to look for heroics. Im not trying to be elitist about my gear, i know for a fact that some pieces are terrible but i dont wanna have to babysit 4 people on my tank and struggle to get through azjol.

I see people saying this alot, yet in every single one of my ques, each tank has about 40k hp, if not 50k, all the dps are around 4600-5k gearscores* if not more... and every instance is fast.

edit: the only exception was like night, me and sister que'd as fury dps and disc healer - we got HoR......... the tank had like 36k hp, none of the dps broke 3k on a single pull and I carried them doing 6-7k on everything. We still 1shotted it with not a single death, when normally that wouldn't happen even with better geared people.

At least you didn't get stuck with a DK who used the fucking axe from ring of blood (lv65) doing under 700dps on every pull. No idea how some people can be so bad. :/

Only really important things to worry about are the waves after the first boss in HoR. They start spawning rogues and there is one wave with like two rogues (Wave 8 ) that is the most lethal. I usually popped my cooldowns on that wave since the second boss is a joke.

The key I found is just pretty much watching your healers and being ready to taunt the rogues off him/her or just heal them while they are getting beat on. I have seen this really fucked up thing once where two rogues just ambushed the priest at the same time for 10k each.

So this new dungeon thing can be awesome. We had this mage who had full epics needing on blues for whatever reason, I dunno. So when we get to wave 18 in H VH, I vote to kick and everyone said yes, lawl.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was an Enchanter pissed off that his tradeskill is being whored out by Blizzard without his consent. If I was a more vindictive person (being myself an Enchanter), I'd seriously consider doing the same thing. The way the cross-server rolls work, though, a Mage would only be able to roll on cloth and non-type armor (e.g., necklaces).
