And I'm probably going to be flogged for saying this, but I'd avoid having your mages rely on rolls in merit parties if possible. Your damage and/or healing capabilities(/DNC, which I've personally fallen in love with thanks to Spider-Dan) are going to drop significantly if you have to be wearing any back-line oriented roll by virtue of buffing your support(obviously if they can't keep up without Evoker's, don't be stupid, etc.).

I am not going to flog you for it, but I will say that most brds that are pulling will not stop to give Ballads, and if the cor stops giving evokers there won't be many RDM that are going to be able to keep up with a party unless the DDs are very good (but then you run the risk of killing faster than repops), or are holding back (full timing Seigan etc).

Although if the cor is /DNC that would go some way to mitigating the MP requirements.

It can happen, I have been in partys where I have sat between 80-100%MP for the entire 2 hour party (with ballad and ballad II) never got close to needing to convert, so in the right situation there is room to drop the buffs on the RDM, but its rare (in my experience).

I loled at the idea of only giving the mage cor roll, if I was the DD in that party I would be pissed. But I normally merit on RDM (as a pick up RDM scares me more than a pick up DD) so I would be laughing all the way back to the moogle.

That campaign boss takes huge damage, enough to assume he takes double damage from everything. Bit of pay back I suppose for the warmachine itself being such a bitch.

That's pretty standard with a good reduction set, then. Keeping Stoneskin up while tanking Ixion is a battle in and of itself, though. I find it infinitely easier to just to keep PDT on while idle/casting to make physical damage laughable(including TP attacks), and swapping in a thunder kit during magic attacks(with carol, nothing will break double digits).
