I never claimed that Republicans could solve this mess. I was simply pointing out the idiocy of the claim that it's impossible to think that they could. By the way, I think that this guy would do a better job, because he was the one who not only predicted exactly what was going to happen to the economy, but he was advising people on what they should do to protect themselves.
Listening live...
"We ask the questions here, thanks."
Ow. My head.
I came in after him.
Facepalming hardcore over this Geologist now. People don't understand that the problem isn't saying that Evolution isn't 100% proven at the moment, just like things like gravity aren't 100% understood (yet we hold that as a /law/.) The problem is that they're doing this solely to open the door for Religion in the Science classroom.
i enjoyed hearing "if its left out of the textbooks.. where is it gonna come from?" Do none of these people realize they can present their arguments opposing evolution to their children?
No questions for the 80+ year old deaf dude who just shat all over the creationists. That makes me chuckle a bit.
This bitch with the Evolutionary degree has NO idea what she is talking about when answering questions.
She bitched and moaned that she got yelled at for questioning evolution while MAJORING in it and then when asked about examples of how evolution was faulty she basically went "idk, lol"
What the hell is an "evolutionary" degree?
"gaps" and "stasis" blah blah blah, he has absolutely no fucking idea how evolution works
It was some evolutionary biology - I didn't remember the exact subfield of it. Can catch it in the blog update I'm sure.
"The death of the theory of evolution. And that's what the truth is"
OW.
Just destroyed whatever (bad) argument he had when he said "The common roach has been in stasis for 4.5 billion years" These people are so bad oh my god.
I am not surprised no one has come out and asked for evidence to creationism. You can't teach a theory to which there is no evidence.
The debate (as I understand it) isn't really "about" creationism.
The focus seems to be on allowing, literally, the theory of evolution to be worded as having strengths or weakness and discussing the merits of different aspects of scientific theory. Which at its face is fine.
What TRUE scientist wouldn't openly say, "Yes, please. Dissect the foundations of my work. If you can make them better than they are I want nothing more than that." The people "testifying" are so full of shit though. Basically saying that if we don't allow the changes then that means all science teachers everywhere are going to shout "QUIET! YOU CANT ASK THAT IN HERE I'LL GET FIRED" When little Jimmy is curious as to how the genetic mutation in one Giraffe allowing him to have a longer neck is similar to genetic mutations regarding skin pigmentation in Humans.
That shit doesn't fucking happen. And if it does, said teacher needs to be fired. Science, specifically, is founded upon the discussion of different ideas and testing of theories. These people just want to discredit evolution for the sake of discrediting it. Not for any productive or scientific reasoning.
This is my take on the debate anyways.
The dude just now ran train all over their asses so hard. I love it.
