Specifically here. If you're going to try to disprove evolution, come with actual evidence, not random shit that you got in a "LOL DARWIN WUZ WRONG" chain-email from your Creationist friends.

Since I'm a REALLY nice guy, I'll even fix up the "Further Reading" links on that page for you, since the university hosting them seems to have reworked their archives.
Here, here, here and here. They make for interesting reading, unless they demolish your argument, I suppose.

The thing that makes me laugh is that the creationists tried to get the text books changed in their favor, and instead the board decided to get rid of the "Strengths and Weakness of Evolution" out of the the books. See you later "teaching the controversy"

While that is absolutely retarded, hopefully this just means something can be thrown out there in the classroom and nothing more.

Although I know damn well that won't happen...shit...

It's kinda ironic. A while back I listened to Neil deGrasse Tyson semi-jokingly making reference to the fact that he was jealous of biology. He claimed cosmology never got any of the cool press (in as far as science vs. religion controversy goes). He was happy that a particular priest had mentioned the incongruency between Biblical time and cosmological time.

Now looks like he's getting his "wish." Perhaps the new strategy for creationist will be cosmological. I can only hope this is true though. It's a lot easier to use tenets like "teach the controversy" and get simpletons to think it's a fair and just idea. Or even things like irreducible complexity are great to sell to the uninformed who can't do their own homework. You can even propose (fallaciously) that there are disagreements about evolution by polluting the arguments with origin theories and the fact that science has no answers (despite origins having nothing to do with evolution). You can do all of these things under some heading that some "designer," which isn't "necessarily God" did it and call that ID.

I think it would take some acrobatics to even attempt pushing any concept that draws into question the age of the universe. As it is there's pretty much the scientific answer that 99% of scientists agree upon based on evidence (not counting the 1% that are well paid fundamentalists who put their names on stupid lists), and the Biblical account. How you can possibly try to disguise an argument about the age of the universe as non-religious is beyond me, but I'm gonna go grab the popcorn.

I am actually surprised that the amendment was passed given that NASA was situated at Houston. They should have sent a spokeman to bitchslap the board members.

I would just like to point out that there are a lot of flaws with the evolution theory hence why its still a theory and over the years a lot of things that were made up to support evolution because it gave those people funding because they found something.
You don't understand what a theory is at all. You are using the colloquial term of theory, but in science, a theory is the highest form of proof outside of mathematics. You do realize that everything is, 'just a theory'. We can't prove gravity, germs, electromagnetism, or even if the earth is round or the sun is the center of the universe. We can never be 100% sure of anything, that's why the term theory is used. However, Evolution had more evidence in it's favor then gravity does. The percentage of biologists or geneticists that don't believe evolution to be true is less then a fraction of a present. There is no debate in the scientific community, because there is no answer that comes anywhere near explaining as much as evolution.

From what I have heard those moths that evolved to match the color of the trees from white to black that survived was a crock, supposedly they glued dead moths on the trees because they couldn't find where the moths hid during the day and that same picture and story it taught in todays classrooms as fact when it has been disproved.
That's been a classic misnomer. He did glue down moths, but only to take pictures of them. All the research findings were accurate and this test has been verified and redone countless times now in different parts of the world. It's like saying cars are built by god because Honda set up a photo shoot for one, it doesn't make sense.

There are a ton of things wrong with evolution that have been proven to just be false over the years but remained in the textbooks still being taught as though it was fact, and after you sift through all the bullshit the Evolution theory has so many holes you wonder why its even a theory, which begs the question, if we didn't somehow evolve then how did we get here?
Wow, you are so full of BS. Please, point out all the false information that has made it to the classrooms. It's not like I haven't had this debate before countless times.

All you crazy Christians. You god doesn't allow for evolution, but the Magic Water Buffalo does. He was created naturally when a buffalo, the oldest living organism (you can tell by the wrinkles) mated with PA^2, I believe one of the rarest elements in the universe, aka Pure Awesomeness. You can tell by the monocle and top hat.

Hang on hang on let the man get home from work properly and post his irrefutable sources and evidence, at which point the crushing weight of their unassailable truth will usher in a new age of illumination for all of God's Children.

Not technically the exact center of the solar system either I think. It is at the center of my heart though.

"Strengths and weaknesses" is gone. Here's what they came up with:

“In all fields of science, analyze, evaluate and critique scientific explanations by using empirical evidence, logical reasoning, and experimental and observational testing, including examining all sides of scientific evidence of those scientific explanations so as to encourage critical thinking by the student.”
As long as people know what "scientific" means, we should be OK.
