    GMs -CAN- help apparently

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post it, I figure it is the most likely to get read here, and people may want to know incase they have a similar issue occur (if not, I'm sure a mod can move it).

Anyway, we did a Zhayolm run today, and after fully unlocking 3 people, the 5fN madame did not pop. We tried everyone relogging, etc, nothing worked. Then we petitioned a GM and sat around for 30ish minutes waiting. After finally getting a response, the GM looked into it, and apparently saw in the logs/our characters, that we had indeed fully unlocked 3 people, and popped the frog in front of us. Barely had enough time remaining, but managed to kill both 5fN and 6f in time (no drops of course).

So yea, GMs can actually help out at times, and if anyone else has something like this occur, it is probably worth your time to petition a GM and wait for a response.

Finally, my personal "guess" as to what may have bugged the zone, is right after our final person full unlocked while standing in 5f madame's room, another person used a stat cell. My best guess is whatever script that was checking for the unlock/popping the frog was interrupted by the other cell being used. Pretty flimsy, and I have no proof to back that, but I figured I'd post the only thing out of the ordinary I saw, incase others have seen it happen and can confirm/deny that happened in their run as well.

You should have given him timestamps and the XYZ position of each character when they used those cells for faster service.

And wtf is that? 640x480? /facepalm

Anywho, woulda been neat to see some GM + Frog screenshots Did anyone get?

Awesome that you didn't get the "working as intended" excuse GMs normally give.

This is pretty uplifting that there is at least some GM's out there that actually look into things and dont give the generic

this conversation proves 1 thing and 1 thing only. that GMs are fucking 'tards. the GM obviously was so dumb he thought you were JP, and was typing in JPnese. For that is the only ppl GMs assist.

Had to call a GM in nyzul once. got to floor 75 with 6 ppl, and had a simply registration lamp, and about 10 mins to spare. well 2 of the ppl D/C and cant get back on. But, since they entered the floor with us, their registration was needed to complete the task. GM said "sorry, can't help. good luck on completing the assigned task."

Why would a GM even help with this? They dc'd and you lost it happens.

We typically run with 6-8 on any given night, depending on who logs on. Tonight we had 6. 5f frog we lucked out and didn't use chorus. 6f frog used chorus once with 6 mins remaining and we finished it off with 2 or 3 mins to spare.

    Bad programming etc.

What do you think he would have done for you? The players were already disconnected, and GMs cannot altar gameplay like extending time limits or giving you a free anything.

The GM that popped the frog for OP probably asked his supervisor what he should do, as all GMs and underlings that work for SE are completely fucking retarded.

A number of the GM staff play the game. I always figure the more helpful ones are either farther up in the GM hierarchy or they play FFXI enough to be familiar with the game mechanics more than a temp/generic GM, or both.

The GM responded a few seconds after I sent the call. I didn't mention Einherjar - but I was standing in Hazhalm Testing Grounds.... easy Vampyr boss on the wing-III, hmm.

It took me awhile to actually see the humor in this. At first I thought it was a total joke, then I thought you were a prick trying to trick him into a banstick, and only then did I realize the humor from the screenshots.

But hey, I like the story. Merely seeing a GM say "pathos" gave me chills. ...Though pfft, that's not the zone to ask for a higher droprate in.

Can anyone come up with a bs'd situation where you could get a GM to pop some bees for you?!? Oooh, or top floor QQTHes if someone DC'd and you couldn't "reasonably" clear the floor in time!

Iskaldur and Razmig have been the most helpful in my opinion. They seem to actually care about the players instead of rushing you.

They're not? That's funny I am pretty sure they all work in the SE building regardless of where they were hired from >.>

whenever I get GM Iskaldur, he/she is always nice and helpful, even if you're screwed (from my experiences), lol.

Grats on getting them to pop the frog.

French GM's are proposed a contract to work in London, since SE's, European office is there. So, unless they changed their policy, no, you don't get to at home
