Yea, so like, what exactly is new? No spamming of chat boxes has always been a bannable offense. Holding mobs has always been bannable. Fraud always gets you jailed. Racial/cussin in /s or /sh could always get you into trouble. All they really seemed to do is explain things in a bit more detail without actually adding any new rules. So, why all the bitching?

It does say -any- third party tool, so Windower would fit the bill.. so no more "but I just use Windower!" as a defense.

SE's not going to actively go after Windower users. If they did, they might as well put the final nail in their coffin.

As for the updated list (I had no idea about the original), a lot of this was already prevalent to anyone with a smidgen of common sense. Much ado about nothing.

These changes mean nothing. It is the same as it has always been. Again, first rule of fight club.

Why would they need to justify anything? Its their game.

SE tends to repeat the rules before bans.... the Salvage dupe and RMT activities come to mind.

In both cases we had a repeat of the standard rules with a few tweaks then bans were handed out on violators.

We've been over this one before.... SE doesnt care. If they want to hammer the windower community they will and they'd simply say they were sweeping out those dreaded 3rd party app users. The salvage shitstorm should have shown people that they just dont give a fuck when the bans start being handed out.

If they banned windower users, would the community take a huge blow imo? Yeah. Would the game end for SE and the majority of console users? Nope. It isnt like they haven't fiercely defended the secrets of the game.... why would they care if they nuked all the people who try to reverse-engineer it?

I agree but given SEs past behavior... they dont really give a fuck if you've made the community happy (via Windower, figuring out dmg formulas, recast timers, other housecleaning plugins) because ultimately the bans just mean the community is pissed for a week then everyone affected goes to WoW.

Really i just want to know why they decided to just spring the same-old rules on the playerbase. Are they acutally going to monitor kited/held NMs and force you to engage or release or is this just the same SE blowing smoke about things they really dont care to enforce.
