"Examining other players continuously to disrupt their gameplay."
Thats retarded .... There is a filter for that....

So anything can be construed as offensive if the GM wanted it to be.
What the fuck is this shit?
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
someone just pointed this out to me, but has this whole "Hi, we can throw you in jail for screenshotting GM conversations" part of the agreement always been in it?

Tell me about it. I love my blist. But do you know what? There's actually a limit to how many people can be on your blist, mine's full. Now if I want to add anyone I have to prioritize and delete an old person first.
Anyways, like has been said already, I don't think anything has really changed. Square is obliged to notify the users anytime it changes part of it's TOS no matter how insignificant.
Essentially they could do whatever they want with their game before this change and that's still true.
Here's a link to the Internet Archive version of the page from December of 2007: FINAL FANTASY XI Official Web Site

The change? The wording of one item in "Disruptive Behavior" from:
toConsistently depriving other players of the chance to enjoy combat over an extended period of time.
Can people please shut the fuck up and stop freaking out now?Actions that excessively deprive others of the ability to experience various gameplay features.

Please, all of you read this
NOTHING OF VALUE WAS CHANGED STFU
Dear god thank you sono all I wanted to know was what the fuck changed, but I couldn't get through all the tears.
Nothing to see here folks :D
Well like I said I was having a hard time wading through the bawws and what if's.
Yeah right, they won't do jack shit when a jp LS holds some HNM but when an NA LS does it and jp calls a GM action will take place within 2mins.
I remember several times back then when I played JP's NEVER got punished for holding certain mobs when it was clearly holding and the gm's always told the NA LS whoever called the GM that it was a special tactic being used.
That is a fucking joke. I remember countless times where jp's held khim/tiamat for atleast an hour before starting damage and nothing ever ever happened(over atleast 30 times) but I remember gm's getting on NA's asses for doing the same thing when held for 10mins.
You do know American companies does the same thing right? They favor US customers over even European customers and god forbid Asian ones trying to get help?
Enough with this favoritism bullshit. People outside of Japan are even lucky that the game was released outside of Japan as is, it's clear FFXI would have been better off staying a Japanese only release regardless if it would or wouldn't have survived 7 years because despite the fact people hate to admit this, but it seems the NA/EU base do nothing but piss and moan about everything in regards to FFXI and SE -.-
While I <3 the Logan's Run reference, I find this whole thread to be hilarious.
Seriously, people, it's already been stated: Don't be a dick, and you don't have to worry about it. From reading this thread, it sounds like a bunch of morons complaining that they can't be assholes ingame.
Newsflash: WoW has the same damn rules, albeit two: Third party apps are okay as add-ons, and a GM in WoW won't do anything if you've been scammed. So, in that respect, I like the fact that we can fight back against scammers in FFXI.
You can damn well bet Rapture will have the same rules, so the logic of "banning people from FFXI to get them to play Rapture" is out.
And lastly, they wouldn't ban every windower player, like they didn't ban every salvage duper, if they decided to get around to that. They'd ban 500 or so, and scare the rest.
Those banned would whine about how the game is "losing it's best." But as with the salvage dupe bans, the game will go on, the banned will be forgotten, and new people will arise in their place.
You may now continue your whining about how life is unfair. When you're done, I'll be handing out razors at the door, and instructions if you need them.
We are lucky the JPs even let us play their game. AMIRITE?
