I own every single album. I don't like every single song but they're definitely my favorite 'band' in terms of music. It just sounds different from everything else and Chris Martin's singing style reminds me of my own.

coldplay is alright; definitely have some solid singles. parachutes was a really nice album, and the followup was good too. just nothing particularly engrossing for me on a whole, but definitely not a trash band (despite x&y drawing a lot of ire from me for trying to be the next U2, which is a band that draws a lot of ire from me).

I've seen them several times in concert, everytime within a few rows of the stage. Me and ex got really into them due to their actual musical talent. Something about his music just goes right through me, kind of like pinkfloyd used to do for people.

I enjoy their music, they bring something a lil different to the table. Extra man-points to the lead singer for snagging Gwyneth Paltrow too.

I disagree. I think some of their best songs are the ones that get radio play but occasionally their good ones get skipped over completely. Death and All His Friends and See You Soon figure into this category. The annoying ones to me are songs like Whisper.

I do agree though, I didn't like X&Y as much as the other albums because it was trying too hard to be successful. There aren't as many favorite songs of mine on that album although Fix You was quite possibly the best of the album as well as Kingdom Come. I would have loved to hear Johnny Cash sing it.

X&Y was really enjoyable to me actually whereas Viva La Vida was hit and miss for me. I really like Coldplay but when one of their songs is played to death on the radio, I lose interest in it, ex: Yellow, Clocks. One of my favorite songs by them is Spies on Parachutes.
