Camera Problems and Such

I asked some people in my LS and they don't really know how to fix it, I asked a GM/Tech people at SE about it-which they said they had never heard of the problem lol-so now I will ask all of you.

Last week I was on FFXI and doing nothing in Whitegate when all of the sudden my camera stopped following my character. In fact, my camera treated my character as if it were some other character and I could run off screen. I can't move my camera in any way on my controller and keyboard. Also, home key cannot reset the camera to go back to normal or anything of the sort. I play on PC and I use Windows on Mac (which may or may not be the problem). So... does anyone have any sort of advice on how to fix this?

TL;DR My camera won't follow my character, can you help me fix it? Conventional methods don't work I.E. using the controller or keyboard to move camera.

Hahaha, this is the first time I've ever heard of anyone else having this problem!!

My friend used to have this problem a couple of years back, it'd be a constant source of amusement for us. A short time later he also started getting randomly "zoned" to the exact middle of the map (which caused hilarity when there was "nothing" in the middle of the map - for instance in sea or Konschtat highlands).

I'll ask him about it when he logs on later tonight. XD

Well that's the weird part! I haven't been forced to the middle of the zone, but it is almost as if the camera "unhooks" from my character lol. But thanks in advance.

He said he has no clue what was wrong, but had to uninstall and re-install the entire game. @.@ I'd try doing a file check first, but apart from that, that's all I got.

turn off app and relog happens to me all the time

This happened to me a long time ago in Tahroni Canyon. Like, back in 03 lol... Was weird as shit. I just relogged and it went away.

It occasionally happens to me when I just teleported to one of the crags and head out towards sea. It's like my camera forgets to move with my character for a couple of seconds and then snaps back where its supposed to be. I can usually run from the teleport crystal to just around the corner of the crag.
