Looks good, hoping that & more means new character classes/game types mebbeh. They did post the character art to the blog, I'm just having a hard time imagining how they'd be able to fit that into old maps or if it'd be new maps only.

When's the new class update coming out? Also anyone wanna start getting games together?
Titan Studios Dev Blog - Fat PrincessThe fans have spoken and we have listened once again! One highly requested feature has been for a controller option change so that players can use the right shoulder buttons for attack (especially nice for all you Priest and Dark Priest fans). We have implemented this new feature and it feels and plays AWESOME! This will be available in the controller options within the next upcoming patch. We’ll be updating you on these new extras as we get closer to the release of the new FP Update.

We’d also like to clarify that the hilarious Confetti Mode seen in the Japanese screenshots will be in ALL versions of the game. Once the new update is released, turning off “Blood and Gore” for the kiddies will cause characters to explode like piñatas when they’re killed.
Always remember rule #2: Double Tap.
- Titan Dev
lol @ confetti sceenshot, that is awesome. Great news that they are adding a new control layout option, I know a few people had trouble with the targeting while attacking on certain classes.
Yay, one of my complaints was addressed. Hope they keep at it, as the game was in a bit of a lull there since it's initial patch to address host/join issues.
What's with the Rule #2 btw, I don't get the reference.
I'm not sure who else plays this but my PS3 tag is Cyanide777 if anyone else wants to add me this is probably my most frequent played game and would always be down for a game.
New Pork map free, very nice.Calling all Fat Princess fans!
Today is a great day indeed. Your faithful developers at Titan Studios and team at Sony Santa Monica Studio are extremely happy to announce that after careful thought and great labor, Patch 1.03 is complete and ready for imminent release.
Patch 1.03 contains the awesome New Pork city level, and due to the amazing support we have received from the community, we have decided to release the map for free! Yes you heard us right, for free!
Just as important, we have implemented many fixes and tweaks to make the game better than ever. The Fat Princess demo will also go live with the release of 1.03, so everyone who has been dying to try out the game can finally check it out. Huzzah, cake and candy confetti (see below, if you please) for everyone!
1.03 Patch Notes
After playing innumerable games, reading the forums and piles of email, and reviewing all the great feedback we received from you, the fans, we have made a variety of tweaks to the gameplay balance and systems to ensure the game stays fair, fresh and as fun as ever.
Here is a full breakdown of all the changes that can be found in the upcoming patch:
New Map
A brand new awesome city map has been added called New Pork…and it’s free!
Game System Tweaks
The host’s ability to kick and ban players has been removed.
The ability for players to switch teams post-game is now restricted so that sides cannot be unbalanced by more than 2 players.
A new switching team system has been implemented during matches:
* If there is a deficit of 2 players between teams, the weaker team will drop a team colored ball on the death of a player.
* Picking up the colored ball switches a player’s team and rewards them with a 300 point bonus.
* So…get the ball.
The 10 game average ranking system has been removed.
A new ranking system has been implemented, which adds rank points for every game based on the player’s score.
Awarded ranking titles will now never go down once earned.
Online leaderboards have been increased to display all players not just the top 1000.
All online leaderboards are to be reset shortly after patch 1.03 is released, but all unlocked customizations and trophies will remain unlocked. You will not lose them.

The Princess disappearing bug has been fixed.
The issue with statistics and trophies not saving correctly has been fixed.

The Warrior’s movement speed has been increased slightly when locked on and charging attacks.
The Warrior’s 360 degree protect when his shield is raised has been increased from 20% to 40%

Warriors weapon collision box increased in size to aid with hit detection
Adv Warrior speed increased slightly when locked on and charging to match his normal movement speed
Adv Warrior damage increased
Adv Worker’s bomb knockback force removed
Princess calorie burn decreased slightly in weight state 3 and 4

Oh, and before we forget: Many of you have also informed us about a warrior shield bug, and just know that we’re working to fix this as quickly as possible. It will not be in this upcoming Patch 1.04, but we’re planning to get this addressed in the next patch.
See you on the battlefield, and as always…
Cake for everyone,
The Fat Princess Team
http://blog.us.playstation.comOK, we know it's officially Spring in most of the world, but we really just couldn't resist bringing a winter wonderland to Fat Princess PS3.
Today, March 25, we'll be releasing Patch 1.05 which now includes two new FREE snow-themed maps called Frost Bite and Candy Mountain.
We know many people have wanted new maps, and we're diligently trying to keep the community alive and together with these free maps.
And for those of you who have heard about Fat Princess and - gasp! - have not yet played it, now is your chance to grab the game and you'll get all of the original maps plus four additional maps for free!
We've also fixed a few issues recently brought to our attention:
- Warrior: Fixed to disallow shield activation when carrying objects, as well as attenuating damage against lava and drowning.
- Ice Mage: Changed level 1 area attack to slow enemies, not freeze them.
- Soccer map: Disabled online score saving for this level (sorry, all, but it was too easy to gain rank).
Last but certainly not least, we're happy to announce that our beloved princess has a hot new suitor: http://atomicoperations.com/, a new developer based in Seattle, Washington. We have lots of exciting things underway, and all I can really say is "Yo ho ho and a slice of cake!" (nudge nudge wink wink)
Stay tuned, see you all on the battlefield!

I haven't played this game since new pork city came out. I might have to give it a whirl again this weekend, if for no other reason then to just get the three maps I missed.
I haven't played this game in a while but wow, they did a pretty good job of removing everything I found fun about it.
totally forgot about this game, but i should give it a try again.. winter map looks fun
Still waiting for my no-bot server hosting option. -.-
Anyways, will give it a try. Did a quick match of Fat Princess last week, about half the server was players. Had fun playing the priest, made it to second place on the score board.
How to give them credit for providing the game with free content though. Makes the game's high $15 price more worth its value now, unlike most full-price games that penny-pinch you for stupid shit.

I didn't have a PS3 when this game came out and when I tried the demo I was absolutely awful at it. Is there still a decent size community playing this making it worth buying, or has it mostly trailed off and now just a few people playing here and there?
I was on a 32 player server the other day, although I couldn't tell if it was due to the patch bringing a resurgence of players that wanted to try out the new content, or due to me getting lucky in being thrown onto a server that was nearly full rather than empty.
Granted, the lag was pretty bad also on said 32-player match, with my actions having a half-second delay to them. I miss the days when even FPS games hosted 32-players fine on a shitty broadband connection back when the majority of us were on dial-up.
It's hard to me to recommend it given how long the game went with its initial teething problems, but it's nice to see the devs are determined to keep adding new content, although three freebie maps doesn't really fix the lag issues or lack of server lobbies (seriously, fuck matchmaking). I bought it originally to be a pickup-and-play online title, and it somewhat failed at that after the initial interest died on the title and people stopped playing it. (partly due to the teething issues where matchmaking was busted; you kept getting into empty servers; buttloads of "Cannot connect to server" messages, etc)
I found Warhawk to be more bang for my buck back when I grabbed it for $15 (and then a little extra for the DLC) back during its sale.
