    WHM gets enlight? Fun stuff.

    One can hope the BLM overhaul is as comprehensive as WHM.... the job needs it badly.

    RDM im going to guess will be much more melee oriented since they already excel at what they can do (RDM has the magical side down, WHM lacked healing prowess and melee capability).... possible Haste/Refresh duration buffs coupled with a similar accuracy bonus for frontlining? One can hope, the Refresh/Haste cycles can be brutal.

    I'm actually interested to know some SCH mains reaction to this and as for salvage one can hope i hate SSR+BR ramparts with passion

    - Cura (Lv40)
    Restores HP for party members within area of effect.
    Casting Cura while Afflatus Misery is activated grants a potency bonus to the spell based on the most recent damage you sustain.
    The record of damage taken is reset upon use.
    Minus the Afflatus Misery edits, I wonder how this will be different than Curaga2 (or whatever it's close to.)

    I knew they had to add esuna sooner or later, though I guess it doesn't really do what it did in previous games. That's still a much needed spell imo.

    It's to help WHM..not to hurt SCH, because it was WHM/BLMs who felt butthurt over SCHs <.< Now at least WHMs will probably stop whining about SCHs being the 'star healers'.

    I don't know, a job being able to Nuke and Heal efficiently at different times is pretty balanced ..can't say they're overpowered just because they can Nuke AND heal efficiently not even at once. >.> I've yet to see a SCH that can heal efficiently under Dark Arts.

    Srsly, mint updates, definately looks like it'll make the job far more interesting and technical than it is now. I retired it originally cause I was bored (inb4 lolbrd is boring too) but now I think I might dig it back out again...

    Just because it's all YOU can think of doesn't mean SE doesn't have something clever up their sleeve.

    Look at the WHM patch notes from today, I bet most people wouldn't have expected half of these things because they're too caught up in thinking of the game in terms of what it already is, not what it can be.

    Job Adjustments and Additions Part II (03/30/2009)

    The upcoming April version update will boast a wealth of adjustments and additions to a selection of jobs. Today, it is our pleasure to outline the benefits that this will bestow upon red mages—the jacks of all trades of Vana'diel.

    Job Abilities

    Two complementary new job abilities are scheduled to be added, with ability delay set low for both so that red mages can optimize their usage for the ever-changing tactical needs of the battlefield.

    - Penitent Stance
    (Lv40 Ability Delay: 1 min. Duration: 2 hrs.)
    Halves your maximum MP.

    - Dueling Stance
    (Lv40 Ability Delay: 1 min. Duration: 2 hrs.)
    Melee attack speed affected by 50% Slow.

    Magic

    The introduction of the above job abilities will see a number of changes made to existing spells, with new spells set to make an appearance in Vana'diel for the first time.

    - Elemental Blade (lv61)
    Adds elemental damage to your attacks and to party members within area of effect.
    When cast by a red mage for whom Dueling Stance is activated, the Elemental Blade spells also add +2 STR and +2 accuracy.

    - Runic Blade (lv71)
    Converts 1% of damage taken to MP.
    When cast by a red mage for whom Penitent Stance is activated, also converts 2% of damage taken to TP.

    Other Changes

    In addition to the abovementioned adjustments and additions, the following changes will also take place:

    - White magic "Haste": Recast time adjusted to 60 seconds.
    - White magic "Refresh": MP consumption adjusted to 55 MP.
    - Black magic "Dispel": Learning requirement adjusted to Lv50.


    It'll happen. Wait and see.

    well so far this is all WHM and stuff for them but the lowering of reraise is nice for SCH too...
    not to mention /SCH now gets reraise.. which is kinda nifty..

    but of course, less epic that whan WHM is getting altogether..

    Apprently sarcasm escapes you entirely, what that Meant (the spells were just fun speculation) was they havn't had an update in a while cause they were ALREADY good as is. anything they do give rdm is just icing on the cake, wtf are you talking about?

    WHM were slowly getting outshined by SCH so in a way they did need a boost, the same goes for blm, they are already heavly desired for most endgame Fights, icing on the cake again etc..not saying DON'T give them goodies but there is no reason to complain. i have all 3 mage jobs btw.
