Healing Breath

I wanted to know if this would be possible at all.

DRG/BLU, @ 75% hpp. Changes gear into Af head / all +HP gear what takes them to 49% hpp. Then casts a spell and quickly changes to Af2 head when keeping all the hpp gear on. Pet cures the DRG then DRG changes back into TP gear. Would that work?

As i see so many DRGs cast magic with +pet HP gear on. Last time i checked once you summoned your Wyvern with what ever it HP it had that all the time. Not just when you got +Pet HP gear? Or did they change that one update that i was not looking?

Yes, that would work, as long as you`re in the orange by the time the spell goes off. I do this with BQ ring to slightly raise the trigger point for HB. And yes, you can macro in the Afv2 helmet while the wyvern is "charging", and once the HB goes off, you go back to TP gear.

The amount of HP recovered from Healing breaths depends your wyvern`s MAX HP at the time you trigger Healing breath, thus why everyone casts in Wyvern HP gear.

Before all the Wyvern HP+ only worked when you summoned it though? Not just when you put it on? So did they change it?

AFAIK its always been like that. If that really was the case, they must`ve changed it before i really understood the mechanics behind HB... years ago.

So then be best to use only +HP gear in slots where Pet does not get HP... hmmm

Drn. Armet+1 -­­­-> switch to Wyrm Armet when pet is charging
Chanoix's Gorget
Brutal/Ethereal Earring
Wyverm Mail
Askar Hands
BQ/Rajas Ring
Amemet mantle +1
Swift Belt
Drn. Brais +1
Homam feet.

I could swap in more HP gear if i really wanted to, but so far this setup has serverd me very well. Basic HB, i.e. prior to wyvern boost from xp, does around 450, up to 550+ for fully boosted wyvern. My 50% HP is around 675.

I have ALOT of hp gear from PLD like giga mantle etc so could boost it really far. With cassie etc as well. (Cassie is good if you got Ethereal and Ares body right? As you going to have alot of mp blood tanking.)

Cassie and Gigant are a really nice boost in HP to raise the trigger point. However, if you have the Wyvern mail (Lv50 JSE), i wouldn`t rely on Ares body to raise that mark since you will be macroing in the mail.

If you don`t have the Wyvern mail, Ares is fine. I used to do it with Homam body.

edit: Also, if you take 450HP of dmg (same amount as a basic Healing Breath) in hits of 100~ dmg at a time, with Ethereal earring on, that is more MP than you'll ever need for Healing Breath, given that you use a low mp spell like Poisona (8mp) ( i /whm all the time, i.e. i dunno about /blu spells). You're actually gaining MP in this case.

With /blu i saw a DRG getting hit for like 150 dmg per hit from beh. I do not have the JSE body yet. But i will get it soon.

More power to you if you can max out Healing breath. I`m still working on capping Deep Breathing recast (Lv3 atm, 10min recast). With this capped, at 5min recast, its godly for tight situations and i also need to cap Spirit Link recast.

I also like to use Iron Ram Lance and Jelly ring for tougher mobs. Oh ya, and btw, Upgrade Drn. Armet to Drn. Armet+1 if you can. Much less HP lost when using Spirit Link.
