Most of us know that the vast majority of american news media is for shit, but just because a news station disagrees with fox dosen't make them biased or a liberal extremist. Fox perpetuates the culture wars and partisanship like no other news source in america, by your own definition you should be just as critical of the shit they pull (although CNN is getting pretty stupid as well, oddly enough their viewership has incresed at the same time?)

I'm really not a fan of Fox News. Only News I watch daily is in the morning when I flip between Morning Joe and whatever that Fox morning show is, depending on what they're talking about atm. I'll flip through and watch anything at night depending on the topic.

I just find it sad that so many dismiss Fox just because it's Fox. I find it sad that you can't listen to a Keith or Rush or Ann Coulter and say "This guy is a douche, I don't agree with what he's saying, but I can see his point, and where he's coming from. However I'll still stick with my opinion on the matter." Do you all just blindly listen and agree with one pundit?

Fox is dismissed because it's a free-for-all arena for this particular brand of tripe. No news network is immune to it but Fox is infamous for for it. Deal with it, it's the brand they've built over the years and they're nothing if not proud of how much advertising and attention it brings.

Yeah, Gore's just a speaker, we all know this which is why we don't look to him as an actual authority on global warming. His recognition is only for getting a message out, and obviously the jury is still out on whether or not he was successful. I now disagree very strongly with the fact that he got the peace prize, I think putting him next to (or on equal footing with) the IPCC belittles the accomplishments of the scientists that actually did the science, his influence on policy I don't think has been impressive atall.

The real difference? I've read Beck's book and he's intentionally dishonest in it through and through, it's a strictly partisan attack since the neo-con block has aligned itself so strongly against science. We cannot know if Gore's predictions are right or wrong, but we can know with certainty that many parts of Beck's book are factually incorrect. Maybe I'll have to actually see Gore's movie, I've avoided it since I know I won't learn anything from it that I don't already know.
