It's really not as bad as they're making it out to be. No different than of the monotony we put up with in other good games.

Farming bosses in Borderlands 2 is first example that comes to mind. Running dungeons in GW2. The game as a whole can be good and still have monotonous elements to it, doesn't make it a bad game.

If the core of an action game is monotonous then it's probably not a good game.

Disagree that the core of AC was monotonous. Combat was fine, the exploration was fine, the story was great, the characters were good. The only thing monotonous was the way in which you had to go about obtaining the information for your marks. Each assassination had different elements to it.

I'll stop derailing the thread now though, can agree to disagree.

to chime in on the AC comments, and I know I said "it pains me to agree" - I feel lucky I played AC1 when I did, which was a bit after it came out all the way up until AC2 was coming out (I rented it from Gamefly, I spent way too much time not-playing it, and then I paid to keep it). the game is really incredible, the series is awesome, and it only improves after the first game. to be honest I'm a bit jealous of tyven for being able to dive into the series right now. I agree that no one should skip AC1, it would just suck if they started with AC1 and stopped due to the technical crap. play the whole series everyone please.

edit: i'm sorry i'm adding to distractions in the sales thread. still hoping for Far Cry 3.

Hitoshura: can't beat those prices on either of those games, both are worth full price no question.

So what are the odds of Mark of the Ninja getting a big price cut since it's still pretty new?
