Okay just a copy of Contraption Maker left.

I need to come into this thread more often... :D Tyrath #1.
Endless Legend is 50% off until April 20th. Has anyone here played it? I've been watching this for a while but I've never played a game like it. Looks fun but...
If you haven't played that companies other games, the best description is basically Civilization in a fantasy setting. Besides your standard gameplay conventions for the genre, it also has quests that are used for both story purposes and as a possible wincon by completely the entire quest chain for your faction. It's a solid 4X game, but if you get it be ready for a learning curve that's more like a sheer cliff.
I got it during a sale and played some hours without any prior 4X experience. Loved the setting and how sophisticated the whole unit/combat system is. I haven't felt overwhelmed, the tutorial is decent enough, but be ready to put a couple hours in where you constantly learn new things. If you like Civilization you'll like this and it's still unique enough to feel like something new, unlike Beyond Earth.
Also, it's free play for the weekend, so you can install it and give it a go.
Same with Dungeon of the Endless, and goddamn, that is hardcore. Difficulty wise, I'd say it's between FTL and Risk of Rain. However, it doesn't have the diversity of stuff like Dreadmor, SotS: The Pit, Risk of Rain, or The Binding of Issac.
And there's another free play game this weekend, and installing and running it gives it to you for free permanently (though it will be F2P at launch). Fractured Space, it's some kind of spaceship MOBA.
Hm, i missed the free weekend trial part. I will go download it. Thanks!
I think I will give it a shot 2 u guys
Holy balls is EL gorgeous.
Playing EL since it's free and I wanted it really badly. I'm liking it but jesus the tutorial...

^This.
glad i waited until there 2 hours left on the free demo before giving it a try i am so smart
I pmuch dropped everything and spent the weekend playing a full game of Dungeon of the Endless and Endless Legend.
I'm waiting on getting it because I spent some of my reserve earlier in the month, but when there is a free spot in my budget that Endless Legend can fill, I am grabbing it. (Everything will likely be on sale again for summer and winter.)
It is good, and so damn pretty.
I decided to pass on EL. Perhaps there was too much to do, but what I really wanted was a turn base action game like Divinity: Original Sin. Glad I was able to try it out before spending $, despite the sale.
Oh, EL is in a completely different genre than D:OS, EL is a Civ-like.
You maybe want Shadowrun Returns, Wasteland 2, The Banner Saga, and Blackguards.
Do not get Banner Saga and I would definitely wait for a sale on Blackguards. Blackguards has a demo thankfully and if you can, do the same for Banner Saga. One of my most regretted buys. I didn't have a lot of time in EL but I'll pick it up during the summer sale
I thought Banner Saga was good? Someone pls help.
It is, not sure why it's being suggested to avoid it. It isnt a pure strategy game but it's still excellent
Check out totalbiscuit's vid. It showcases most of the game's systems
p nice aesthetics for a turn based tactical game. the soundtrack and art style synched up for a beautiful tone
