Any in particular you'd recommend? I'm fascinated by roguelikes but I don't have a ton of free gaming time to sift through them all.

Gokulo has the right of it. Adding to it, Sword of the Stars: The Pit plays much like Dredmor, but space themed. Risk of Rain is an action/platformer like Spelunky/Rogue Legacy, but it is From Software level brutal.
Lastly, there is the big daddy roguelike, Nethack, and it's primary successor, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Both of which are free. Oh, and Tales of Maj’Eyal has a following, though I haven't looked into it myself.

Has anyone played RimWorld?

It's not a roguelike, Rimworld is more in the vein of Dwarf Fortress, Gnomoria, Clockwork Empires, Maia, etc. Actually, Don't Starve isn't quite a roguelike either, it fits into this company.

Tales of Maj'Eyal is actually a really good roguelike. I've been playing it for years, well before it came to steam.

Skyrim is what started mod use on Steam for me. It's super easy since shit automatically updates and you know it's going to work with the game.

I've used mods for like l4d2 and others that were silly fun.

But if you're using Workshop for Skyrim mods then you're doing it horribly wrong.

I used Nexus for my Skyrim mods, but that was a long time ago. I think we had that conversation in the Heavy Skyrim modding thread? I've used moddb.com for a lot of mods including Max Payne, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Doom 3, and more. I understand those are older titles, but they do have newer games as well. I'm not a hardcore modder so I'm not up on what's the best site, mods, etc.

To add to everything already mentioned, Desktop Dungeons and Crypt of the Necrodancer are both very good. Desktop Dungeons is similar to Nethack / Dungeons of Dredmor with simplified and shorter gameplay sessions and a meta-progression system similar to Binding of Isaac where you gradually unlock more complexity as you play. The alpha version of the game is actually available for free on their site (http://www.desktopdungeons.net/) so you can try it out and see if you like it before buying the full version (which is the same concept but spruced up graphically and with balance tweaks). Crypt of the Necrodancer is basically a rhythm-based Dungeons of Dredmor, so if you like rhythm games this might be interesting. Both games' soundtracks are done by Danny Baranowksy too.

Removing Payment Feature From Skyrim Workshop

We're going to remove the payment feature from the Skyrim workshop. For anyone who spent money on a mod, we'll be refunding you the complete amount. We talked to the team at Bethesda and they agree.

We understand our own game's communities pretty well, but stepping into an established, years old modding community in Skyrim was probably not the right place to start iterating. I don't understand how using Hola would help in regards to Steam. Are you using it to get bigger discounts from other areas like Europe?

I've only used it when buying certain games from Nuuvem.com. It's a Portuguese site, but not all keys are region locked. It depends on the game and if you must use a VPN to buy it.

For example, I can add Truck Mechanic Simulator directly to my cart and checkout like a normal transaction using paypal.

For Wolfenstein: The Old Blood it states on the product page it is Region Locked. On something like this I wouldn't bother because there may be issues.

But, for the new Batman game it does not state it is region locked on the product page. However, when you try to add it to your cart it states "This product is not available for purchase in your region." This is where using a VPN is handy because you can get around that by using a Brazil VPN. This way, you would get the Batman game for $27.22 before Paypal's 3% conversion fee.
