AVP Classic for $2.
Commandoes Collection for $5.
Tempted to get both, although I'm afraid AVP has aged horribly. Commandoes on the other hand I was considering picking up at retail when I saw it for $15, but I am kind of partial to disc releases of 'collections' versus digital.
Will probably be a lot easier to play Commandoes on my current monitor given it's from the good ol' days of mostly-2d gaming, where higher resolution equals more viewing space, which is great since you were allowed to split-up your monitor into multiple views, will be great for multi-tasking my men.
[EDIT] I just noticed the Commandoes pack is lacking the FPS spin-off Strike Force that the retail copy I saw had. It didn't fare well in the reviews, but it was still something I wanted to try, so I'm going to stick with retail, it'll at least save me 5gb some bandwidth.
nothing to big. I guess if you need a game to play this might be worth it. Going to hold off on this one, got to much to play and does not seem to be anything I must have.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition 50% off. $14.99
http://store.steampowered.com/app/32430/
I was wanting to get this game when I tried it on PS3, but 15 bucks and it's the ultimate sith edition... win.
Not seen this advertised on Steam but L4D2 is £10 off usual price.
http://www.direct2drive.com/promos/spring-sale/
Not Steam, but Direct2Drive has a pretty good spring sale going on, changes every week. GTA4 for $7.50, Star Wars: KOTOR for 4.95 and a bunch of others.
Deus Ex Collection for $5, or $2.50 each.
I'll be grabbing it. Already own both on retail, but I wouldn't mind a digital copy of the original, and I've looked all over my house a couple months ago and couldn't find my copy of Invisible War, which I barely played more than an hour of, even though it was inferior to the original.
[EDIT] Whelp, that was well worth the purchase. Even though the AI is still batshit stupid in Deus Ex 1, the gameplay is still fun to me. Playing it on hard this time around and focusing more on hacking and lockpicking than I did my first playthrough years ago (where I tried to be a jack of all trades with everything)
Also spent an hour on Invisible War, and finding it a lot more enjoyable than what I first played it, but part of that may be due to me owning a much more powerful PC, given IW ran like utter shit even on PCs that surpassed the requirements of the time (which mine did at the time). Physics are still laughably bad though, but so was almost every other game using the Havoc engine back in that time.
CoD4 50% off on steam.
L4D2 is 30% off, 20.99 individually; the real savings is in the 4pack, comes out to $15 a copy if you know a few people who are interested in the game but have been waiting for it to go cheap (or are the generous sort).
Rockstar Collection $42, and yes that includes GTA4 with its DLC episodes, which in retail cost more than that entire Steam pack combined.
I feel kind of stupid now having bought GTA4 for the PS2 for $29 three weeks back after hearing about the Episodes coming out for it. Oh well, not like my PC would have run them both satisfactory anyway.
If you don't feel like getting the entire rockstar collection, they've got Max Payne 2 for $2.50 for the next 3 hours.
Ends at 10PM PST
Simply hard to believe the deal that's up now on Steam. Codemasters racing pack for £12.50. That's Dirt, Dirt 2, TOCA 3, Fuel and GRID. Madness.
Are their games moderately optimized for PC, and if so, do they have proper steering wheel support? I could use me some modern racing titles, and at that bundle price it sounds like a no brainer.
Also, no DRM? I know Codemasters is known for using SecuROM in their retail releases.
[EDIT] "3rd-party DRM: One or more products in this package may use the 3rd party DRM SecuROM™." Thank you Steam! Probably getting it regardless at any rate since I'm pretty sure I have it installed thanks to EA's Mass Effect releases. ;/
Well I've only installed GRID and it has no DRM, so maybe it's one of the older games. GRID has steering wheel support, but doesn't support my Logitech gamepad. Well it works for the driving but not for the menus, go figure. Ordered a 360 for PC one![]()
Yeah, I think I'll be buying this on the basis that I'll be regretting it eventually since they all are decent racing titles. I went shopping today, and saw DIRT 2 in the PC aisle for $39..........I'd rather spend USD$17.50 and get that and 4 other racers, especially given I lack any modern racing PC titles.
(last one I purchased being Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, go me!)
Sales like these ones (hell, even the GTA one also that's going on right now) make XBLA/PSN sales look extremely pale in comparison.
[EDIT] Dear god, each of the games are 8-10gb, GAAAAAAAAABE I need my installation-directory support in Steam. ;_;
Fuck man, downloading GRID alone is half of my bandwidth gone for the month. Guess I'll just do one per month. Sometimes I wish they'd just have us download a compressed file and then insert an installation step, rather than giving us the raw files to the game itself, if only to save me 1-2gb of bandwidth on modern games.
That pack...for 12 GBP? Holy cow, DIRT 2 itself worths that much.
Like any Codemasters game it works great even on somewhat lower systems like 8600GT and other average stuff (they are originally a PC developer, and doing a great job at optimizing their games). I'm pretty sure it's got wheel support, etc. as well.
Must buy even though I've already got TOCA and GRID.
After having done some research, the majority of the games in the pack don't even have native wheel support, with the only 'officially' supported controller being the 360 one. Guess that means I get to dick about with the Logitech Profiler to get my wheel to work just right with the game. Shame I can't turn off the "Brake Pedal = Reverse when speed < 0" crap.
