Looks like fun, and it finally made me nab Poker Night with the sales on top of it. Will see how the rest of the week goes.

[EDIT] On reflection, this is actually a pretty cool idea. I just hope Valve focuses it more on the cheaper titles. I can swing a couple bucks every other day if they're of titles that look interesting.

Anyways, back to trying to get Heavy's weapon in Poker Night. >.>

Damn, that was rather annoying. Won every other unlock before Heavy's. At least it seemed to pop up every other game towards the end, took like 2 hours total.

Bit of a dick move to have New Vegas in as a requirement and leaving it at full price compared to everything else so far.

If you buy a game from steam, can you install that game on more than one PC?
going to buy X-COM: Terror from the Deep (great oldschool PC game), and was wondering if I could have it on both my desktop and my laptop?

    thanks in advance

Can install it on as many rigs as you want. Only limiting factor is that you can only be logged into Steam on one system at a time. Granted, if your game has no online component, you can just play it in offline-mode without worry.

In the case of X-COM, it's a DOS-BOX of the original game files, so it has zero reliance on Steam, so feel free to copy its folder over if you please. Also, word to the wide, go into said folder, find the dos-box config file, and double or triple the amount of CPU cycles it has set, game runs like it's on a 386 by default, you want it running like it's on a 486.

If you can though, I'd wait for Steam X-Mas. I got the entire X-COM catalog off it for $2 last year, should be a sale on it this year also.

Is it level-based w/ objectives at all? Trailer made it look like an endless falling game with the objective of scoring more points than the other guys on the leaderboard.

    thanks for the info

I've heard nothing but "meh" from the games following terror from the deep, and UFO defence was basically an easier version of terror from the deep. The main reason for wanting to play it is more of the nostalgia than anything, I used to play/watch dad play it loads as a kid. I had it for PS1, but the load times were stupid (like 4mins load time) lol
    The game has alot of gameplay in it, and it's mainly for something to fall back on if internet is down/not available or I'm sick of ffxi/mw2/mw1/battlefield2 >.>;

Well, that's 6/10 objectives done towards the chance for the grand prize. Undergarden was just torture, didn't like it at all. Thank god they allowed the demo for it.

AaAaAaaaAAaaaAaAA!!! on the other hand is good. It reminds me of surf maps in CS/TF2, except with the focus being holding near objects rather than sliding on them. 5* requirements on some of those levels are damn strict, some of the maps are a damn puzzle figuring out the best route to take to maximize hugs/kisses.

I wonder if they'll be keeping up with the "1 Steam related, 2 Indies/Cheapies, 1 Expensive" trend for the objectives. It'd explain why the TF2 hat for the 28 objectives (aka, getting them all) is called the "Hat of Undeniable Wealth and Respect". I'm aiming for the hat reward for 15 items, so I hope the above trend continues so I can at least maintain my current 3 objectives a day.
(will shit a brick if I get chosen in the next draw for 10-games-from-wishlist)

Yeah, same; 6 done, aiming for the 15. Figured out I just had to run the Undergarden demo then restart steam... who the fuck thought that game was worth releasing, at any price?

I can see where the dev was going with the game....but from what the demo offered, it's a pretty lifeless experience. Felt like an extremely watered-down version of LittleBigPlanet where you fly everywhere.

Anyways, just got an e-mail from the guys who ran the Humble Indie Bundle way back in May, and it seems they giving purchasers of the pack a key to access said games on Steam. All I have to say is, cool!

Now if only Frictional Games would do the same so I can have my copy of Penumbra 2+XP on Steam as well. Oh well, they'll very likely have their entire game selection on sale this xmas which I'll pick up, as I want to get Amnesia.

[EDIT] God fucking damn, my Steam list is getting too big, 105 titles currently. I'm going to have to organize all my stuff into categories (by genre) sooner or later.

Konda, X-com apocalypse was the last one in the series worth anything, in my opinion, but the version available is buggy as hell. There is no guarantee you can get it to play in acceptable condition. The developers lost the source code so the current publisher has had problems adapting it to current gen systems, especially win7.

Indeed. It probably took me close to four hours to get through the first few areas because I was so scared that I just inched along, haha.

But besides it being a great horror game, it is also probably one of my favorite games of all time.

If it's anything like Penumbra, be sure to calibrate your monitor properly. You'll either end up being able to see jack fucking shit, or see too much.

[EDIT] Heads up for Droplitz, don't try and go for the objective yet. Leaderboards are overloaded currently.
