Amnesia is a great game. The type of horror game that genuinely freaks you out and scares you, with just enough 'jump out at you' moments to scare you without getting predictable and boring.
I played this with no lights on and with my girlfriend and her sister watching, and while I can happily say I didn't jump several feet anywhere near as often as them, it still had my heart racing and fear pumping through me.
Without spoiling anything, the torture chamber section of the game is probably the scariest part of any game I've ever played. And that's not just based on gameplay, but damn good (horrifying) writing.
Just bought it myself, havent really played many horror games but it seems like a game worth playing according to whats been said about it. Downloading now, i think ill wait until winter break starts to begin though.
I've been debating on going gold on xbox for a couple months now since this released. Now I don't have to! Pre-ordering it gets you in the beta Thursday that lasts until release.
Release:
January 17th, 2011
$15 - 10% off

Why do I get the feeling they'll be adding a TF2 Hat pre-order incentive to it eventually?
Also, whoo! Got the minimum 10 objectives done for the big draw on the 20th.
[EDIT] And done 15 now. Zombie Driver ended up being better than expected. Mindless zombie-killing fun.
Can't wait for the 20th to start the week of Steam raping my wallet.

Fuck man, very, very tempted to nab....
Hate the STEAM holiday sales...they could put a box of AIDS up and I'd buy it because the price would be too good to pass up.
Time to spend all that cash I was saving.
EDIT: Indie Packs.

damn i'm going to be hitting refresh all week. might go for some packs & the oddbox so far... and if any of you don't have bc2 already for $7 it's insane. i mean even for full price it's still great now....
I'm afraid to even look at the list of games.. because I buy so many fucking games that I'll NEVER play just because it's so cheap -_-; this must be how stores get business during the holidays..
I'm confused. It looks like they have the entire sales list up? I remember last year they rolled out new deals each day.
anyone wanna trade my plain sight for a copy of munch's oddesy? i'd love you.
From what I can tell, many of the developers are having big sales that last until Jan2 (usually a flat 25-50% off all/most of their titles). Some are also doing pack deals that presumably will also last til Jan2. Then there are of course a ton of indie titles and other random games with assorted discounts.
Then the daily deals are on top of (or in place of?) those discounts. Basically, all the stuff on the first page of their little magazine ad (more details for each on all the red pages).
So I'm in no hurry to buy any title with those base developer discounts just yet. If I really want a game, I'll watch for it in their dailies every day, and if it doesn't pop up by Jan2, then I could still just grab it with the base discount. For example, Fallout3 is probably base-25% off (like New Vegas), but since it was a daily deal today, that was bumped up to 33%. Same could happen for a ton of titles, so its definitely worth checking out everyday.
I really want that Square Complete package.....
i just blew $40 Meatboy-ing my friends for Christmas. long live Steam.
