Neverwinter nights 2 is very tempting.
Neverwinter nights 2 is very tempting.
Machinarium was bought for pennies back when it was part of the humble indie bundle.
I've had Kotor and both Serious Sam games for years.
I didn't say there wasn't anything good in today's deals, just nothing particularly tempting. I'd sooner empty my wallet into GOG's nearly-over winter sale.
if i didn't grab kotor on its last sale i'd be jumping at that. i went for serious sam, nwn2 (probably won't even play it, but i'm addicted to this crap...), and machinarium. i do regret not grabbing that humble indie pack though.
KF pack for 7$ is a steal.
3$ Kotor
5$ Mirror's Edge
Apparently Victoria 2 is a really good RTS as well.
How does KOTOR hold up by today's standards?
How's Killing Floor? I feel I've read good things on here, but am far too lazy to search through the pages.
i only played it once, and it was the xbox version, but i'm going to go ahead and say if you like americanized rpgs it's a classic (especially if you're into star wars). i'm looking forward to playing it again sometime on the pc. maybe someone can correct me if they've played it recently but outside of graphics, which definitely weren't bad then, it's a really great game.
The Victoria games are turn-based grand strategy, in the vein of Crusader Kings -> Europa Universalis -> Victoria games go here -> Hearts of Iron
Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but if you spent hours playing board games like Axis & Allies or wish Risk was 100 times more detailed and difficult, it's a good fit for you. Only the hardcore strategy game fans need apply.
New sales are up.
Nabbed KOTOR1 while the price has still yet to be adjusted, and added RUSH and Mount&Blade Complete to the mix.
[EDIT] Tempted to grab Doom Complete pack just so I have a legit copy of the earlier Dooms (aside from the first which I got my on my iPod >.> ).
Global Agenda for $7.49 is worth it. You will not regret it.
This isn't a steam deal but for anyone going to grab ArmA 2 from todays sale, Amazon has a much better offering going on right now on their game download section.
http://www.amazon.com/ArmA2-Combined...ef=pd_sim_vg_3
Comes with ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead for just $12.50.
They also have Mafia 2 for $12, and STALKER Call of Pripyat and Bioshock 2 for $5 each. Not to mention Penumbra collection for like $2 and various other deals.
EDIT: The Mafia 2 and Velvet Assassin on Amazon, the key can be used on Steam also seeing as they are steamworks games, which is a bonus.
Kings Bounty any good? And what does it play like?
Bought it but haven't downloaded/played it entirely yet. I had previously played a demo for about 10 minutes and its in the Heroes of Might and Magic / Disciples genre. Troops battle on a hex grid while your leader person has spells. New twists from HoMM include you having a pet dragon that builds rage and uses powers to affect the battles and the overworld map movement is REAL TIME not the usual turn based movement from HoMM/Disciples, so you can be chased and have to run away from enemies you'd rather avoid / go around. That's about all I know.
Amnesia: Dark Descent for $4.80 if you own any of the Penumbra games on your Steam account, $6.80 otherwise.
Not really much released today that interest me besides that. I wouldn't mind nabbing the Quake pack, but unlike the Doom bundle, I already own more than two of the titles on there, and I doubt Quake 3 Arena/Team Arena are much alive these days. If it was $5 it'd have been an impulse purchase though because I'm fucking horrible like that.
i'm the same way and i've basically been buying anything that is $2.50 or less without even thinking because i'm an asshole, and i bought the brotherhood in arms pack, but besides that yeah today has been pretty weak. i got the id Software pack long ago, and the rest i either have or would rather on console. the first few days of this sale spoiled me. i'm refreshing at 1pm every day though.
THE BALL IS ON SALE TODAY!
