The Last Remnant for $10 on Steam (75% off). Square-Enix game, turned based RPG, lots of missables (use a walkthrough and make multiple saves throughout the game). Short main game (for a comparison, maybe only 1-1.5 hours worth of cutscenes throughout the main game >.>. About 10 hour main quest) but lots of side quests.

Game lasts 40-60 hours if you do all the sidequests and collect all the stuff. Can get grindy later on (also don't grind until you have 15+ characters. In fact try to avoid monster encounters as much as you can till you have 15 characters at least so they can all gain stat increases at the same time.)

If a character asks whether to learn an ability or not, "always say yes" because unlike the 360 version, you can always turn off/on abilities for characters if you don't want them to use it (FF13 should have had that feature too since they were lazy and didn't implement gambits >.>).

It doesn't. There are attempts at workarounds, or I think the full version has an "invert axis" option in the launcher to let non-360 pads work. Or just use a 360 pad. They work perfectly. The basic issue being that XInput, the 360's input API, is also available on Windows...but only supports the 360 pad. Developers can easily include that with their PC port and net the same exactly functionality as they do on the 360. Adding Directinput support takes more work.

Isn't there an xinput emulator you can download to use standard DirectInput controllers and map them to a 360 controller layout?
