my general rule with steam is $10 or less unless it's something i'm really pumped about (dragon age package for about $20 last year for example)... i still spent almost $100 this winter sale, which was a lot less than last year. i'm a bit addicted, and my backlog is well over 300 games now across steam & consoles... which i don't think even counts as a backlog anymore. weeeeeee

At this point you're probably no longer considered to be buying games and are simply making yearly charitable contributions to Valve.

My list is over 500 now. This holiday season wasn't nearly as bad as the last one at least. The biggest problem is I almost never even play games, I just collect them like some kind of retarded hobby. I can't stop.

Only 14 years late, but better than never. Picking Half Life before I start Half Life 2 and I'm wondering how important Blue Shift and Opposing Force are to the story. Are they even canon? I know they were developed by Gearbox, so I was sure if they were just some extras or actually important to the overarching story.

They all take place around the same time frame, but it's only Gordon's that matters to the main plot......even though nothing much really even gets told in the first place. Isn't until HL2 did the story thing start to take off.

You'll have to wait until the summer for any deep discounts, but I don't doubt it'll be 50% off or more by then.
