How many people play Arma2 itself? Everywhere I look, everyone is just buying it for an alpha mod with loads of bugs, and ingoring the core game they bought. More interested in that than I am zombie game #924.

Base game is better imo. Waiting on sale too, not sure if I wanna drop $30 just for a mod.

I've been interested in ArmA for awhile (game reminds me of Delta Force). Problem is that its apparently not that well optimized for anything but modern PCs from what I've read, so I've been holding back until I get a new rig built for next month before I give it a shot.

If it ends up being $10 during summer sale I'll probably just grab it to play whenever the new PC is ready.

L.A. Noire for $4.99 - worth it? being asked by someone who got the 360 version for pretty much just as cheap in a Gamefly sale, and i started it, and never got back to it (but it's in the to-play pile). basically wondering if the PC ver is an improvement over 360 or not.

I don't know the difference between the ports, but the price is a great deal. I got mine for 7 and change at last years sale and I do not regret it one bit. Controls are a little weird for keyboard, but maybe joypad is better for it on pc (i never tried).

I've seen it on sale a few times and I believe it's been on both the summer and winter sales this last year (I picked it up on the winter sale).

It is and it isn't. The textures don't look better on PC (and may look worse depending on your resolution settings) and the faces just don't look right since the textures was optimized for 720p at best.
But it's still the best version available and the chop on the DLC prices is hard to resist. Also, the mod community has released a patch that unlocks the 30FPS cap if your system can handle it.
