na dood, i just find the pokermans that i like (read: look awesome) and use them, i don't go through the tedium of strategerizing and building up a team and only having the bestest stats by breeding for 83 hours one day, just whatever i get, i get >_>

got a shinyshiny pilloswine today though, kinda wish it had been a shiny palkia instead.

Man, using my Venusaur to fuck everyone up back in the day was great. I think Diamond was actually the first Pokemon game where I actually tried to train a team rather than just using starter + legend(s).

Was able to go into wayward cave basement and get Earthquake and a Gible, think you need strength to do that in other versions. So now my lv21 Gible has earthquake lol.

Unless it has changed recently, I thought breeding shinies only increased the chances from <1% to still somewhere less than 5%. It has been a very long time since I read up on that, I could be wrong.

Yeah the chances go up by a bunch, it's not less than 1% chance to get a shiny, it's way less than that. Breeding brings that up significantly.

Really though, shiny is just an indicator that the pokemon has some nice IVs, which means it's ideal for breeding. You breed a shiny a few times and you'll get a better parent to breed more with. You'll have super pokemon in no time really, allows you to skip a few generations of breeding.

So I beat 3rd gym and have an Eevee now. What should I evolve eevee into you think? Sheerly for progressing not for competition.

I could REALLY use a fire or water obviously, but jolteon is so tempting and I think rotom might be sucky. Most eevee evo's dont get decent or type-moves till later on, but vaporeon gets ice moves as well and one as early as 36 I think. I literally just picked up a thunder and firestone in the ruins like 2 minutes ago as well, hopefully I can find a water.

Surf is pretty hard to pass up I'll admit, but I really like my Flareon and I just wish Glaceon had more SPatk based ice moves rather than so many atk based ones, would do shittons more damage

I'm in veilstone so I have access to the TM's there as well for whatever I evolve my eevee into. Vaporeon is pretty likely considering it'll have Blizzard/auruabeam/surf by mid 30's.

Getting sick of Rotom so having a different electric would be nice, and no fires at all yet is depressing since I usually pick the fire starter.

Hm yeah, apparently it's not based on IVs anymore and they simply xor a bunch of generated numbers with your trainer ID which equates to about a 1/8192 chance no matter what. Kind of lame honestly. All this pokemon talk has me wanting to play though...
