Let us just make this game easy so that 10 year olds can be pro's at it. Then we will put famous ppl in our commercials like Mr. T, and that stupid nobody midget from Austin Powers, and that untalented brain dead metal singer from 70's.

*Someone hands a small note card to me.*

    Oh, that's already been done?

It doesn't take a pro to kill any of the HNMs, nor does it take a pro to learn how to bot. The majority of the ENM ideas want to increase the difficulty in the HNM, not decrease it. Nice attempt at trying to be smart though.

I'm not safe facing, but that shit wasn't even sarcastic. It was the basic rebuttal of most arguments these days: people bot, who cares. So once again, nice attempt at trying to be smart.

What I'm saying is that too many ppl want this game to be crappy like WoW.

    WoW sucks.

Once again, nice attempt at trying to be dumb. Oh wai-

So... you were saying that marketing FFXI (in terms of fights/commercialization) was your main intent, and when I remark that the majority of BG doesn't want this, you woosh me; and then you say that was really your point? I'm done with Advanced, holy shit.

You do realize that this makes no sense what so ever because it is structured poorly, right?

The majority of BG is for or against commercialization? And when did you remark this?

My point is that people want this game to easier too much. Easier like WoW. A game that sucks because of this, on top of other things.

It's not structured poorly, what the fuck are you talking about? Read it exactly how you should: mirroring FFXI in terms of fights and commercialization, as WoW is being marketed, is not what the majority of BG wants. A lot of us want the support that Blizzard gives their customers (most of the time) because SE is a giant dildo that fucks us in our asses whenever we cry "change!", but that's a different topic. What we want is more balance and creativeness when it comes to camping Kings. ENMs supply an even chance of obtaining items that are years old, without coming to us easily (upping the difficulty, making it harder to obtain r/e items, etc). And don't talk to me about sentence structure when you whip out stupid shit like

My point is that people want this game to easier too much.
    Nice one.

I didn't have time to read the 11 pages before this, but I remember having an idea about claiming 3 years back.

Since Square seems to not want to instance the stuff people actually want:
The mob spawns and you have 10 seconds or so to cast on it, which takes out any claim speed issues. After 10 seconds, it randomly assigns claim to one person out of the 100 or so that casted on it.

This obviously would still favor zergs, but so does the current system.

And let Paladins like me who have Cure 4 kits to take refresh/double ballad and Spam Cure 4 on myself, causing a spike flail seeing as how I've already established myself on the mobs hate list?

Yeah, that's a totally reasonable solution.

Aside from maybe 2 or 3 drops you can get most of the kings' drops from Odin without the hassle of having to own the best bot. Those 2 or 3 drops are worth camping to some, but not so much to others.

Einherjar was nice, but why did SE add HNM drops to it though? They could have fixed HNMs and done something different with the zone IMO.

Because a lot of the HNM gear is simply outdated at this point and having 2 places to get it instead of one isn't going to be game-breaking. Also because a lot of people would probably quit if they changed HNM now. Like for instance... all those people who bought bots...

SE doesn't care about those fags, they fucked the salvage dupers in the ass they'll do it to hnm botters just the same.

I'm sure if the hypothetical situation were to occur since we are talking about a new claiming system where the monster chooses from a list of people the acted on it during a period of time it wouldn't be hard to have it clear its hate list of everyone except the person who won claim.

As for the original idea in the thread, the HNM spawn with some sort of stuning move, is nice but doesn't go far enough if you want to eliminate botting at these monsters. Sense the bots obviously read the game data I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to modify to fire the milisecond someone unstuns. Scenario #1 Normal Person unstuns first. He or she might claim however depending on how close people are unstuning together get a little unlucky with your spam timing and a bot that unstuns a split second after Normal Person might still win. Scenario #2 Boter unstuns first. Having the bot gives a security blanket that you are not going to screw up and miss the claim. Scenario #3 Normal Person and Boter unstun at the same time. Bots are typically faster. Looking at the three basic scenarios I would think boting would still be prevelant and pose a significant advantage.

The problem with the idea in my opinion is it doesnt address the root cause. That is that current Zilart King setup is a huge competition for a relatively rare, once a day or 4+ days for HQ, resource. In such an enviorment its not surprising that people will look for whatever edge they can get.

The ideas to turn these monsters into instances fixes the root issue by removing the competition and most likely decreasing the rarity. However from what SE has said I have a feeling they enjoy the relative rarity of these encounters.

I would be willing to bet that a situation that changed the claim dynamics but not the rarity would be a preferable fix by SE in the unlikey event they actually change these monsters. If you truly want to remove boting then you have to take the competition completely out of the player's hands. If they used a modified version of the Shikigami Weapon model you could completely eliminate boting by removing the decision on who the monster fights from the players' hands.

Have the NQ/HQ Kings pop as a standard NPC. They look at the sorrounding players and randomly choose one to fight. The NPC then becomes a monster claimed by Player X.

Players would have a small influence by bringing more people to give their shell a better chance to claim. People could also weigh out there time a little more as well. Example, there are 190 people in Aery we can only bring 10 people tonight. That is a 5% chance to claim. Maybe we'll do something else.
