    Xbox Live + FF Question...

    I have played on PS2 forever it seems...but I played on a friends Xbox once to try and see what it was like. Skip ahead a year or so and now I'm worried about my PS2 dying and tried to play XI on my xbox. It keeps saying that this isn't the right Live account or something. Is it forever linked with the first Live account you use? I looked around for some answers in google, but couldn't find anything relevant and figured someone on here must have ran into this in the past few years. Thanks in advance.

    Call Square Enix. Provide the normal info (Name, reg code, etc) and they'll unlink the account from the live account and you can assign it to your account.

    Does not work tried it o so many times.

    Once linked its all ways linked.

    Not sure why it didn't work for you Unstable, did for me. And yea, aside from the annoyingly long wait time to actually talk to someone, it's as Okan said above.

    It would have worked for me, but I lost my codes due to moving so many times (Thanks USAF) and they wouldn't do it.

    my codes are long gone as well...so guess i just better hope my ps2 doesn't die.

    Had the same problem from linking to a previous Live account I haven't used in years, went to the POL live chat explained that I needed it unlinked so I could link it to my new live account, gave them name/dob/address/first 4 and last 4 of CC and they unlinked it, 2minutes later it was linked to my new live account.

    Search gamestops and whatnot. I'm sure you can find a used PS2 and just swap the HDD. Maybe call them on Monday when they open and explain your situation and see if they can do anything also. I believe if you can provide some info like last 4 of CC, last 4 of SSN (Did they collect this?), address on record, and just about everything else, they just might do it. I won't make a promise to this though. Just be understanding instead of an ass and that can take you a long way. And I'm saying this as someone who has worked call centers (typically Help Desk) for years.

    Edit: Didn't remember POL live chat, but all I had was the xbox and I did own the second tag so it wasn't that big an issue for me either.
