BLM and soloing limbus?

So, Ive been saying im going to solo limbus for BLM and BST items, and Coins for about 4 years now, but only bothered to try i once 3 years ago.

I tried Tem-East but failed, because I had no idea what to do, etc, so I wasnt sure if thats still the 'best' place for BLM solo.

I read Kanican's LJ a long time ago and he soloed Apol-NE, and wondered if thats the 'best' area for BLM solo for the other item.

Id like to do a zone that drops both BLM and BST which is Tem-East, but if theres an easier zone for just BLM and just BST, thats ok too. The other area for BLM is Tem-North, and the other BST is Tem-West.


So out of Tem-East, North, and West, which is the easiest, and second easiest. And of the 4 Apol zones, which is the easiest/best for BLM mainly, and then BST.

Are there also any good guides/BLM solo guides out there for these zones aside from whast on wiki?

Appollyon kings is by far the easiest way to get coins and items for that side. The strat changes depending on what your focus on the zone is. Going for MB takes a good 25+ minute commitment of time and meds to make rushing through the zone as quick as possible. If you just want coins and upgrade items you can pretty easily get the floor 1 and 2 MBs down and then farm coins on Dragon/Behemoth floor. Remember to utilize the 2 hour chest on every floor, and make sure to get all 3 times on every floor. General rule - watch for links or stuff can get bad fast. If you are good are running before your nuke goes off, it is a huge advantage on behemoths and generally every mob. I don't know how much experience you have with the zone and what goes on, but there are some good guides out there.

One thing that gets overlooked a lot when going for items is Pluto. Remember to bring a remedy for him, if he gets virus on you it can last for 40 minutes and pretty much ruins your hopes of doing anything on the run.

temenos blows, you can solo one treasure chest in east or north on blm(1f only).. that's it and if you get unlucky wiht avatars you won't even get that one in east

what puba said is correct, though you can also solo 1-2f of NE with pretty standard gear for shots at mats(need very good gear/gaiters/etc to do the whole zone)

East you could probably solo the whole zone with luck... but that requires taking time crate on every floor. I could see opening 2 chests pretty easily, depending which job's item you're aiming for. Just always take time on 2nd floor because shiva is impossible to solo.

I figure the Appolyon SE should be super easy for BLU but I think I did Teme N (Goblins?) way back in the day when coins were 100k each and never really got too far, just enough to make some good money.

NIN can solo the first floor of Temenos N, as can SAM/DNC.

I would put money on a skilled Blu/Nin getting decently far into Temenos Elemental Floor. Elemental floor gets ridiculous sometimes with bad luck, but if you are just hoping for a shot at upgrade items it works well. I don't know the stun rate for blu spells on elementals, but it would be a fun thing to try ;p

Anyone having issues w/ sleeping ghosts on the 1st floor in NW Apollyon? Have been duo'ing this zone for 5-6 months now, and normally just sleep/nuke the first floor w/ no issues at all. Last night it took us 3 ghosts to open the vortex, and on each ghost we were able to land 2 sleep II's, then full-resist w/o elemental seal. Wasn't really an issue once we were expecting it, but it caused us to eat a thundaga III on the first one, lol.

I think after the recent update, ITG mobs have a much higher resist rate on spells which is also cutting your duration

I missed a couple of linkshell runs so I decided to try a couple solo runs. For anyone looking to get Blm items from apollyon I'd like to throw out an alternative to NW, and what I used to get the final piece I needed.

Solo SW.

First and third floor drop blm items. I took a vile elixir +1 and a couple yagudo drinks with me each time(neither were needed it just speeds things up a little), I also took a FULL rr hairpion and a scroll of reraise, as well as the antidotes, echo drops, and remedies that I always carry.The two times I did this I entered on lightningsday.

First floor

You need to kill the 2 fomor of your race to get the vortex and chest pops(I'm a hume and will be talking about my experience). I guess the hardest part about this floor is pulling them alone, but both times I had a clean pull and killed the first one within 5 minutes of entering and both cleanly pulled and dead within 10 minutes.

First thing I would do is move NW to the small clearing there. Just be patient and wait for good pulls. I would pull with blind, wait for it to come towards me in a straight line to avoid any pathing/linking issues and then move west some. Sleep > gravity > nuke > sleep > nuke > sleep > etc. Sam 2hr didn't matter because it never got close enough to use a tp move. If on any pull I had linked I planned to sleepga > 2hr > and kill the hume I pulled asap, then get up when they were far enough away and go on with the run.

The hume ones are samurai and have about 6000hp. They are easily slept and gravitied, I didn't try bind. My thunder 4 with af2 legs/obi/sorc ring and an overall good nuking setup did about 1500.

First floor killing 2 mobs with no links or deaths was 10 minutes for me both times.

Second floor

This floor is very easy. Find the leafless Jidra and kill it, then go up. It can be in any spot where the Jidra normally are, you just have to find it. It can easily be slept and gravitied. Took me 6-7 Tier4's to kill it both times. I used the Vile elixir +1 on this floor to avoid having to rest but it wouldn't matter if you did just sleep 2 and rest once.

Floor takes about 5 minutes.

Third floor

On this floor I tried to kill a mimic to see if I could and it really owned me, so I just hit chests and RR'd until I got the item chest and peaced out. I think it would be possible to kill one with 2hr/vile/vile+1, but really it's going to be close. I'll try again some day if I miss another run.

For the record I've easily duo'd a win with a friend, and if it wasn't for the difficulty of the 3rd floor mimic this whole zone would be a relatively easy solo.

Anyway, this whole writeup wasn't needed since the only tough/time consuming part is F1, but as long as you don't have any major screwups I'm pretty sure you can hit both first and third floor item chests every run(both of which drop blm according to wiki). I got my last piece from first floor on my second run. I'll go ahead and post my nuking set, any other questions just ask.

You don't need viles to kill mimics, need to idle in dmg- and nuke until pendant is active then blow it up with manafont to stop interrupts. Use a taco, cast protect and phal, etc.. unless you get screwed on crits it's doable even without novio.

I remember getting hit for 150, I was casting in idle gear(umbra/terra/sorc earring(obviously not in latent right away, guess I should have brought my jelly ring)) and switching to nuking gear before cast went off. I had protect and phalanx on, but food was melon pie +1. My 350 stoneskin was ripped very quickly and I went down shortly after that, only getting a couple nukes off because of manafont. Sadly I didn't take screenshots.

I'm going to try again eventually because I'd like to solo the zone, but it's no priority of mine.

Out of curiosity have you solo'd SW?

yes, but i've also died to it :/ hits were in the 50-70 range for me, and my nuking gear isn't spectacular by any standards.. I take off spellcast for that floor and do the same thing you do but with jelly and NQ cheviot. Dying isn't caused by lack of mp there, just lack of ability to damage it fast enough since curing yourself is pretty counterproductive and you can't get out of range.

Sorry I guess I should have stated it but the whole reason for vile/+1 in my post was for the quick and decent HP gain, not MP. 2hr was stated to simply not get interrupted while casting.

That still doesn't seem worth it to me. Maybe if you wanted a more reliable solo you could slow/paralyze/bio before you start nuking and use hi pots/elixirs but it seems like that would be counterproductive as any nukes after manafont wears are likely to be interrupted(stoneskin for the first few)..

I tried awhile back to solo this (maybe like 1-2 years ago). The mimic has about 8000 HP and a strong 4 nuke does about 900 to it I believe. There is little chance of you killing it before it kills you since you'd need at east 8 nukes to do it. To do it, you're basically saying you can blood tank a mimic for about 80 seconds without dying.

RDM/NIN can solo this zone though.

What method would you suggest for pulling this off as RDM/NIN? I Am currently leveling up SCH and didn't think I would be able to solo any limbus zones until I've finished. I figured RDM wouldn't be able to deal enough damage to pull it off...or make it worthwhile.

RDM can solo NW also, and was the first to solo Kaiser Behemoth iirc. They timed out before hitting the end chest though.
