BLM and soloing limbus?

What method would you suggest for pulling this off as RDM/NIN? I Am currently leveling up SCH and didn't think I would be able to solo any limbus zones until I've finished. I figured RDM wouldn't be able to deal enough damage to pull it off...or make it worthwhile.

Sleep-Nuke on 1f and 2f, chainspell nuke mimic with vile and vile+1 on 3f, sleep nuke on 4f. Coin return is shit and you only get the AF from final box, if you're after drops not chips just do NW.

How would you suggest to do NW? Obviously Pluto can be solo'd easy enough but for just 1 coin and an AF drop. I suppose after that you would just rush up to the Behemoth's for more coins and possible chest if you can pull off Kaiser Behemoth kill in time?

RDM can solo NW also, and was the first to solo Kaiser Behemoth iirc. They timed out before hitting the end chest though.

This is correct. There was a RDM/NIN named Darkshines on Rag that beat Kaiser but timed out about 5 seconds too soon and didn't hit the winning chest. This was about 3 days before I first beat the zone (actually hitting the chest) on BLM/RDM. "Technically" he didn't beat the zone first, but yea, he really did lol. I believe he just straight DoT'd it to death with maybe CS nukes. I'd imagine its much faster using the kiting-nuke ledge exploit.

Your portal luck has to be very good on RDM/NIN though. BLM doesn't even need decent portal luck to win this (Prior to Enfeeble nerf, I don't know now). I remember beating the zone after 3>3>3>3 before on BLM.

As far as SW, I would actually try melee on the Mimic then CS nuke once you got it to like maybe 60%. I'm not sure a RDM can get it down fast enough straight nuking - it has some type of MDB on it. BLM can barely or not eve break 1k on it. Other 3 floors should be cake barring a bad pull on 1F. If you're a Hume RDM even easier b/c Hume Fomors on 1F dont have magic resists.

With regard to the OP's request for BST solo options, I tried Apollyon SW first floor a while back and wiped due to a silly mistake. I hadn't played BST in ages, and miscounted shadows, and the fomor took that moment to hit me with a big damage TP move (I forget which one it was).

I think if you have a decent haste setup and Beast Affinity merits, and go BST/NIN, first floor should be doable. Pulling one mob out of the pack is kind of easy if you've done a lot of soloing, but you do need to be careful. If they link, you're a dead duck.

The main issues with doing it this way are a) if you have BLM leveled it will solo Apollyon much more easily so you might as well do it that way, and b) BST has a ton of trouble soloing the card mobs in Sea. You'll need help for that, and so you might as well bring those pals into Apollyon and just low-man it. I've done most of the zones with 4 or 5 on my BRD and I'm sure most of the other folks here have too.

I don't think you can solo as SW if you're mithra though. The mithras you would need to kill on the first floor are pretty much impossible to manaburn. I remember we tried them once when we were trioing, and as a BLM with full morrigan, sorc ring, novi etc.. I could barely break 300damage if I remember correctly. Their MDB is insane, and yes we dispelled shell.

So it seems that NW is good for BLM and Coins, while SW makes a nice/better alternative on the Apollyon side.

While Temenos looks sucky, and East being my only real choice? Im looking at North and it seems the Second floor is link hell and id have to nuke fast as well as keep sleep on the links. Anyone recall how much HP those gobs have or how many nukes it takes?

Ages ago, I tried to solo the first floor on my BLM alt to get a spare shot at NIN mats, and killed second mob with like 5 minutes remaining :/ My guess is that even if you take time chest on 1f, you won't be able to get to loot on 2f even if your gear is drastically better than mine was. Also, the BST charms <_<

I figured I'd post this here since it's the only recent Limbus-related thread.

I've been doing Limbus on and off for ages, and have only ever seen 2 Apollyon BRD items in well over 100 runs in those zones. I'd love to get one more to complete another piece of AF+1. Are they particularly rare? I think I've only seen the item in NW, dropping from the mini-wyrm, but surely it must come from other zones and floors also.

So, where to find Brown Doeskin, and on which floor? Thanks!

First floor of SW Apollyon drops BRD fairly frequently. If you're careful with the pull you should have no problem soloing. Wouldn't recommend doing trying this solo if you're a Mithra, though (see earlier posts)

I did try SW solo once (see previous page in fact), but BST has issues with the flowers outside to get the card. Silly, really. Maybe try a duo sometime, or just wait until LS does the zone.
