Are all the secret trophies just story-related then Qalbert? I'm usually OCD about listing which trophies to aim for one 1st/2nd playthrough. >.>

At any rate, about an hour into the game (got an unexpected pay boost on my paycheck this week due to getting vacation hours, so I spoiled myself ), and I have the same pet peeve about the graphics as the prior two R&C on PS3: The game visuals are not being rendered at native 720p. It's being framebuffered to a texture from the look of things given it has a soft-alias look to the edges, but it's fuzzy enough where I wish they'd just allow the game to have some slowdown for a sharp display, like Uncharted 2 had.
(Resistance 1 is the only PS3 game Insomniac made that didn't suffer from that visual quirk, as even Resistance 2 had it)

[EDIT] Ok, the hoverboots just made the game infinitely more enjoyable.

I just started myself, always loved the Ratchet and Clank series. I love the new weapon previews before you purchase.

for those of you still interested, the Ratchet Demo will be available tomorrow (Thursday), and since it was mentioned in this thread, so will a demo for the new Jak & Daxter PSP game.

Unrelated but so is the PSP version of S-E's Crystal Defender, yay.

Super excited about this game. Gamefly has been good to me this past month, so this either should be in the mailbox now, or tomorrow waiting for me. R&C games never get old to me. Too much production value in them for it to get stale.

Question for those that have the game already: In Tools of Destruction, I had a much more difficult time than I should have had with the Star-Foxesque space shooter stages due to not being able to invert the aiming axis. Are there more (or rather, better) options for tweaking camera/aiming control this time?

you can invert the camera this time around, at least in look mode.

As for space stages, there are no more starfox-ish shooting stages per se, just shooting as you fly around between planets/moons but it's all on a flat 2d plane so you won't have to worry about aiming vertically.

I have to say, this has got to be one of the funniest Ratchet games out there. I am surprised how many of the cheap laughs got me laughing out loud....

At any rate, I'm getting pretty far into the game
    Spoiler: show
    just rescued clank
, and it's really starting to grow on me, starting to be one of my fav Ratchet games (which I thought wasn't possible since I loved Up Your Arsenal and it's online gameplay, which I miss dearly).

I don't know, maybe its because I have been distracted and stressed out with irl stuff, but so far this one has just been ok, I'm gonna wait a bit til I sort some shit out before I start my Challenge Run

I assume there are Omega versions of the weapons (or something past lvl 5) you can unlock in Challenge mode? Or is that once you beat the game and start over like normal?

And I agree with what Kaisha said. Hard to say if I liked it better than UYA/GC since it's been so long since I've played them, but it's one of the best.

Just beat the game, and I have to say I was a little disappointed at how quickly the ending of the game came up at me when I felt like I was at the 75% point.

Oh well, at any rate, I'd recommend playing the game on Hard difficulty for the vets, as the game is stupidly easily, to the point where I didn't die on any of the boss fights throughout the whole title. Time to farm Zoni/Parts/Weapons for trophies now, then off to my Challenge run.

Is there a gadget that lists bolt locations in this like the prior titles btw? Trying to see what other items I'm missing.

Ah, I take it Tourney #2 is open then after beating the game. Only did all of the first tourney back when it first came up, and was disappointed that I couldn't continue.

Btw, is there raritarium in this game? I keep seeing a substance like it when I bash invisible boxes, but I can't pick them up.

Starting to wish there was a way to take your helmet off in the game. Always losing Ratchet's face in the strongest armor in all the titles ticks me off.

I'm taking it the Arena is the best place to farm weapon level ups also. I don't want to end up with the same problem I did in Tools of Destruction where levelling lvl 1-3 weapons takes a fricken year since experience was based on mob kills, and not damage dealt.
(had to sit by some mob-happy portions in maps in ToD camping the GrummelNet booth to keep restocking on ammo, took ages to get weapons other than the Ryno IV some levels above 5)

[EDIT] Wtf, please tell me there's a Tournament 3 somewhere in Challenge mode at least. Only 20 challenges blows, and it was over and done with too easily (on hard difficulty no less -.- ).

On my last gold bolt to get them all. It says its some where in axiom city and its showing no where on my treasure mapper. Oh and Kaisha to get to the museum just find all the zonie and do the last side quest it opens up a place for you to go.

Edit.... haha found it forgot there was a second half the map after you make the jump yay found all gold bolts

Ugh, all I got left are the gold bolts in the challenge sectors of the Great Clock, then off to do the last side quest, get Museum, then do my challenge run for platinum trophy.

Just so fucking glad Insomniac wasn't cruel by requiring all Skill Points to unlock something trophy related.

On a side note, are there any tricks to the Quark minigame for 10k points? Most I could get is 8k before the waves get to large to the point of dealing with it without your blaster overheating, and also, the boss likes to kick my ass due to it sandwiching me into the friggen wall half the time.

I havn't done it yet but apparently you are getting further then i did to his a boss. But in the first stages shoot your baster into the wall not hitting anything let it over charge then fire the big beam into them to get a really nice multiplier bonus. Do it early when you can since the first few waves can't damage you. I can usually hit around 8k before the tanks even start to show up

Alright, will keep that in mind next time I approach the arena. Been speed-running my Challenge mode playthrough, and it's proving to be fricken easy, but more fun at least due to there being about twice as much crap onscreen at any given time compared to the normal play.

Shame the Omega weapons take a fucking year to upgrade a single level. I'm about 1/4 through the game (pretty short game when you only focus on the main plot, which I'm doing since all the side-quests I beat in my first playthrough carried over) and I've yet to hit a level 7, so I got some farming to do later on. Need to get to the arena bad to crank my bolt multiplier through the roof on easy challenges, then go to an empty zone to farm crates. I want my Omega RYNO V damnit!

Incase anyone was wondering, it took me 11 hours to 100% my first playthrough, ignoring skill points since you pretty much need a guide to get them all.
(and there wasn't really any up at the time of me playing it)
