I'm finally up to date with SoulEater. I enjoyed it a lot more than expected, but I can see see why it would get annoying to read monthly. It's perfect for a marathon, but pacing (per chapter) is really slow. Battles tend to drag over 2 mangas, which is pretty long for monthly release, and they are covering many characters at the same times. In a way, it's suffering for the same reason bleach suffer, even if the quality is much better in overall.


Personally, I didn't mind last chapter with the black kid...I mean, he is pretty boring, but it was interesting to see a different meister/weapon dynamics. I'm just bummed it wasn't Patty, i really wanted to see her in action, after the training.

yeah, Blackstar is the best thing about Soul Eater, followed by Kid, followed by Mifune

Mifune? I thought he was boring...even more if he is really gone (why the fuck did he despawn anyway? Shouldnt he leave a soul behind? or maybe it's just an excuse to not bring him back as a zombie).


I don't really have a favorite character, it's seeing them mixed together that make it interesting.

The whole flying thing was kinda lame indeed, and maka complaining to Soul about her wings was the only time where she annoyed me, but meh, it's not something like this that would make me hate the manga.


I just hope they won't drag the story longer than this arc (and the kisshin after).

Anyone here up to date on Claymore? Ive started watching the anime (only 12 episodes in) and I am really interested in buying the manga. However I was curious about whether Raki is still a whiny good for nothing who you want to punch in the face, or whether he has somehow matured and isnt the sterytpical "I must protet her" git anymore.

Raki definitely changes greatly later on, but he hasn't really done much. He is a very minor part of the story at the moment.

Yeah, Raki changes a lot. He whines a lot while he's with Claire, but after that he changes a lot. Then he changes a lot again, currently where the story is at, Raki is going to play a big part. Of what is unknown.

Anyway, if you're watching the Anime, watch up to episode 20 (22 at the most) and then read from volume 10 onwards.

anime starts changing the storyline with about 3 episodes left and then comes to an ubrupt(sp...) end with no actual ending btw. so the manga is better anyway!

Wtf, souleater is only 30 pages. 2/3 was a boring fight, and when thing start getting interesting..it's over.

The Spin off of Index again, it's an important series to read so you can bridge the gap for Index storyline for most part but don't let the anime leads you to believe this just a happy go series as it gets pretty dark and depressing especially on the later chapters

The manga needs some patient since it takes about about 10 or so chapters for the story to kick in but worth it.

to Sum it 4 guys looking for there perfect girlfriend, it's little slow at start but you get to like the cast after chapter 4 but a fair warning the fanservice is pretty extreme.

This is the one best manga I read in last decade as I can't believe how emotional and sad this can get as it deals with father trying to know his 5 year old daughter by letting the reader experience they're trails and emotional impact along the way.

When I first read this I was like "oh boy another stupid shota manga" but I'm happy I was proven wrong, as not only this series has some best artwork but it's so rare to see dependable woman can hold they're own against men in their society and the social aspects when two cultures collide.

Good story are often predictable because everything you see make sense. I don't really have any issue if most twist were expected to some extent.

Oh I didn't think it was bad, actually quite good. Just didn't seem like an earth-shattering moment to me.

Even if it takes another ~6 chapters though, right now the ending seems like it is going to feel rushed. Then again with 40 pages per chapter it might work out in the end.

Anyone checked the chapter 83 of Evangelion? just awesome, I waited 14 years for this and SADAMOTO Yoshiyuki didn't disappoint me one bit.
