I particularly enjoyed all the references and the comedy, and I became attached to the characters as well. The author also stayed true as he ended the series.

I wanted a perfect happy ending even though there were complicated circumstances, but he didn't cop out and give me that; instead I received the appropriate complicated ending.

Yes. Raged very hard for a while, then experienced healing. Then started reading the web novel. I don't view it as something great, but it's something worth the time spent reading for now.

Accidentally marathoned Sundome. I got surprisingly attached to the characters. Definitely don't attempt reading this manga if you have a weak heart. I feel so empty right now.

Yeah you know early on what's most likely coming, but just like MC you want to deny it. You want the happy ending. You want it to be something operable where she goes through a low survivability surgery and lives. But no. She dies in him arms with a tease that's upholds her promise from the very beginning.

I figured she was gonna die pretty early into the manga, but I also thought it was going to be because she had some kind of fucked up STD she contracted as a prostitute before showing up to her current school. I mean, they never really explain her logic behind the whole "never have sex bit," and the shady circumstances of her living conditions. Really enjoyed the characters though. Could've done less with all the constant weird fetishes.

You want a manga that brutalizes the heart? Read Saikano.

She actually was an assassin hired by the OB. She was an orphan who would have just died normally, but the OB paid for her treatments in order for her to sex MC. MC has very specific tastes and she fit the bill. (Said tastes are why the women he ends up with after looks similar to her.) She didn't get it on with him because then he'd no longer be eligible for OB backing. Whether she decided that from the get go, or if it was a front and then became true as she developed feelings for him, idk.

I don't know if I could get myself to read Saikano. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that the anime might be a mistake that shouldn't be mentioned compared to the manga? But currently for me it is the only show that I wholeheartedly regret wasting my time watching. It was so bad that I had to restructure how I rated shows out of 10 because other things I watched didn't deserve to be as close to it in (low) numerical value as they were.

The whole O.B. concept was lost on me because every scanlated I found at the time were crappy as translation. It wasn't until Kyouko(sp?) flat-out admitted to it that I realized it was a real thing. Came off as running a joke from butt guy the whole time.
