I must be the only one who had the problem on how quickly they turned the tables back on Father... to build up the whole series to "I'm going to use all the souls in this country" only to undo it almost immediately after really diminished whatever effect their supposed deaths had. Not that I expected the author to actually go through with killing characters like Winry without warning, but still I hope for something more from it.don't get me wrong this still an awesome chapter all the way through.

You gotta understand that Honenheim has spent years organizing the counterattack, using the similar amount of resource as the homunculus in term of alchemical ability, and there was basically a timeskip of preparation just before the endgame where everyone pretty much get their shit together.

Yes it sucks that he got trap card'd in the same chapter he shows his true form's power, but really, it's a long time coming in the series with so much foreshadowing, it's not some bullshit like a fag randomly growing a horned mask berserk rage and just show up behind the homunculus and gave the "you're already dead" speech, right before the homunculus says everything is just an illusion, or some retarded shit like that.

Not to mention that the Homunculus still have a fucking god in him, he just doesn't have 50 million lives anymore to restrain it, but he can still use it, and he still have a few hundred thousand lives of the Xerxes in him (well, maybe a lot less with those given to the sins practically gone at this point)

I'd give it one more chapter for fight, one for endgame, and one for epilogue at this rate, it'd probably end at the same time as the anime at this rate.

And yeah, this end for Bradley is much better than any fucking "redemption" death that his humanity might have foreshadowed, he went down like the fucking badass that he was, showed no sign of guilt whatsoever, and yet still manage to draw sympathy in his last moment.

Unless I misunderstood that scene, he still had some philosopher stone on himself in the bottle (in his pocket?).

If he accepted his death when he could have lived a bit longer, you could see this as some sort of redemption. It doesn't make him any less badless though.

Anyways, epic chapter, sad to think the manga is going to end probably in the next 2~3 chapters. Bradley was a fucking boss.

Some aspect of Bradley's age might've been affecting his regeneration, too. Though, considering his creation was similar to Greed/Lin's, this makes me wonder if Lin would also age or if Greed was originally created "from scratch" and just parts of him (some thought lost) wound up in Lin after Father killed him.

Overall, we don't know how many deaths Bradley has actually experienced over his years. Sure, Father could refill him like he did Gluttony, maybe, but perhaps his own pride would've kept such matters a secret and therefore the final encounters were enough to put him over the edge. Can't really rule out off-screen deaths during his encounters in the end here, either.

Father had to pretty much regrow Gluttony to refill him (remember the creepy scene where he's sprouting from his chest?). I imagine he couldn't do that with Bradley since he was also a human. Actually, one thing I've wondered about is, since Lin's personality has managed to survive inside Greed, does that mean the original Bradley's is somewhere in there too?

Well, the real bradley was a nameless soldier pretty much trained from birth to be a vessel for the philosopher stone, whatever his personality may have been, it's probably near non-existent to begin with.

As far as his other earlier deaths, when Bradley was talking to the first Greed, he mentioned "how can a single man manage to survive this long?" in his speech before showing his ultimate eye, so I'd like to say he has been surviving from his martial skill and borderline ESP foresight from his homunculus eye. Wouldn't be surprised if he actually don't have homunculi regeneration and extra lives.

I mean the guy got fucking blown up in the train on a fucking bridge and ran back to central practically unharmed before he fucks up a tank on foot, eliminates most of briggs squadron, took on Fu and Lin/Greed at the same time and not actually taking much damage until Fu and the Briggs leader suicide attack actually give Lin the opportunity, yet he still catch up to everyone else, and fought Scar on even ground before he got fucked by the solar eclipse glare.

Zilong has the correct answer imo. It was discussed at some point in the manga (during Bradley's flashback I think). He said something about his personality being lost in a sea of souls...I forgot the exact wording, but it means his original self isn't strong enough to manifest like Lin or Hoheinheim.



About bradley regeneration, maybe you're right when you say he is more like a normal human, but I'm still hoping he could have used this stone to regenerate himself...It would make his death better imo (not that it was lacking).

Also, 5$ that this stone will be used by Ed and Al for the finishing blow

I swear, the writer of Soul Eater must have started just putting ideas on a piece of paper and pull them out for the chapters. They just jump around so randomly. doing one thing one chapter, then completely flipping around and doing something unrelated.
That being said.. I have become slightly curious as to what Cid would look like...
I'm sure there'll be some hentai of it sooner or later anyways.
