It's a pretty pro play by Saiko. Because I'm pretty sure he knows that Hattori and Nizuma set things up just to fuck with Ashirogi, so what are those two going to do if they leave the magazine because of it? Heh. Granted, Eiji would still 'win' in that situation, Hattori would feel bad for sure.

Concerning the power play though. I can see Eiji stepping in to help on this. Can't post links yet, but there was that whole "let me cancel one manga I hate" stipulation to him signing with Jump. Still that wild card, but I'm not too sure how it would unfold. Maybe his editor tells him they're trying to quit Tanto but it could end their run at Jump so he helps out.

Oh damn, I forgot about that. That's a good call and entirely likely to happen since Eiji doesn't read Tanto anymore, so he obviously hates it. But I'm not sure Eiji actually has that power, so we'll see.

I dunno. Eiji is basically carrying Jump in this manga, what with his two popular stories (well one's not technically his, but you could say it is due to his art), so maybe he could cancel Tanto and force Ashirogi to move onto another project without dropping Jump. Also, I agree. Miura, while a nice guy, is just so fucking useless. JOKES. USE MORE JOKES HURR DURR.

Yeah, I feel kinda bad for Miura but he is useless, I really want them to go back to Hattori as their editor.
