On a side note, I'm pretty pumped for the Bakuman anime. Looks like J.C.Staff picked it up, was hoping for Madhouse, but J.C. isn't too bad.

I'm kinda pissed that Hattori is even Iwase's editor to begin with. What happened to that "oh I'm editing OP and another allready, I can't work on another series" shit that got Mura in ther door? Also, I'm really surprsed that the editor in chief hasn't stepped in ans done something about Mura, there's allready been outstanding complaints about him and he's now tanking a second series in a row. It's poor management to keep someone like that if they're obviously not cut out for thier job. He gives a shit about authors dropping work, but not editors squandering talent? How has no one called Mura out on his shit yet?

    Spoiler: show

pretty sure they're gonna stay with jump (Takagi's gonna pull another "pep talk" to convince Mashiro, just like how they got in this mess to begin with) and do the whole "bring me something better to get out of Tanto" thing. Only problem is they have no one reliable to bounce ideas off of...because Mura's retarded.

Man, Hattori needs to sit down Mura and give him a sneaky "here's what you gotta do" speach, to get things back on track.

Yeah, Miura's fairly useless indeed. He's a nice character in general, but a terrible manager. It's a shame that they had that break with Trap because that was a good mix of both comedy and 'dark' storyline. I hope they get something darker with more plot in the works.

As far as the anime, yeah. There hasn't been an anime I've looked forward to (outside of the few obvious ones over the past year+), but this is definitely won't I'm anxious to see. Mainly, I want to see how they pull Kaya off, and then how the Azuki/Mashiro stuff will go early on. Also, curious to see how many episodes it'll be planned for.

i'm not sure how many of you guys ever read "Slam Dunk" (one of all time favorite) but this plotline is starting to look like a nod to that mangaka's career struggles, which was as epic as the manga imo

Slam Dunk is fucking amazing, that last match literally had me on the edge of my seat. On that note, have you read "Real"? I heard it was pretty good, but haven't looked into it much.

Oh well, everyone's talking about Bakuman, might give it a look and see what's up with it.

Trying to remember the name of a manga I read a while ago. I remember there weren't many chapters out, but it was intriguing to me at least. I think it was about voice actors for a hentai game/company, and a girl who worked at the company who used her little sister as a newbie voice actor. I can't remember much else about it, but I reckon that'll be enough for now.

Reading Bakuman for now though, shit is addictive.

well i assume you didn't follow the manga as it was published in Jump, or you'd be on the edge of your seat for... what, 3 years? lol

and nah, haven't read Real or that samurai manga of his, one of those series I always "meant" to read but never got a chance

Nah, I read it in bulk a while a go. I couldn't imagine waiting monthly (had to be right? Can't do art like that in a few weeks) for each chapter, would make me go crazy. Or not care for a long time like Berserk.

But yeah, Slam Dunk is definitely my favourite sports manga. Actually it's my only sports manga, but whatever. Gonna look up Real after I'm done with Bakuman.

Was a bit off on the whole Eijii thing. I am pretty happy to see Miura turning over a leaf though and trying to focus on whats best for them, and not what he wants to see. Excited for upcoming chapters and what story they'll come up with. It's a shame because some of the manga ideas they come up with in the actual manga sound interesting. I'd probably read them haha.

It's also kinda humorous that the best stories for Takagi are "cult" and not battle or gag manga...when the Bakuman manga is written/drawn by the guys who did Death Note, which I think fits into the "cult" popularity and isn't battle or gags. I wonder if this is just a dramatic retelling of the two making the manga.

I also wonder if once Bakuman ends if they'll end up using an idea from it for their next series.
