Yeah, I saw the similarities with GTO in Breaker, don't remember the other series they mentioned it resembling, but I thought the whole nine dragon thing was pretty neat.

I dunno if it's cause it's still pretty 'new' but this manga has me hooked. My 2nd favorite Jump manga at the moment. It also beat OP/Naruto/Bleach in weekly votes a few times.

So I just finished Volume 18 of Eden. I'm assuming that's the end of it right? Just wondering because Spectrum Nexus has it marked as ongoing even though it seemed like a ending to me.

Anyone here read The lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer (Hoshi no Samidare)? I dont remember if it was mentioned on this board (probably was), but a friend of mine got me into it yesterday. I thought it was pretty good for what it was (seinen with evangelion-like monsters, and some romance/comedy inbetween the fight). The initial setting is typical, and the main character was a gigantic douchbage at first, but everyone get nice character development as the story progress (including many characters I thought would be minor). It was a fun read in overall. The series isnt over, but it's reaching the end if you don't like waiting forever for the ending.

Hoshi no Samidare is pretty good, though I think it'd still be a while before the ending, since there is still the 12th and Animus actually joining in the fray

It could last a while, but its not the kind of manga that come up with plot twists that extend it for another 3 years. They are already in the endgame, and you know it will end eventually.


Anywa, I wish most manga had that kind of dynamics between the characters. Between harems and shonen, there isn't enough series where everyone get developed in a non linear way.

Recommending Wolf Guy - Wolfen Crest to anyone not reading it yet. From the same artist for Akumetsu. Manga is beautifully drawn, Yugo Yuuki doesn't disappoint and the story is a pretty fresh take on the Werewolf lore. Not the most original but definitely interesting.

I doubt with all the development they've done they would scrap it just for them to move to another magazine. If I remember correctly, the authors had mentioned they didn't expect this series to go longer than Death Note. I also remember reading that when it first started, could've been a rumor or whatever. Either way, I am extremely satisfied with the pacing of this manga. Fuck you Kubo, fuck you.

Yeah. I mean I can see how they wouldn't scrap it or something, but I can also see how they would maybe fail the manga, move to another article, show them making ANOTHER manga, getting into a new magazine and then maybe a time skip or something. Either way, it definitely has me interested.

feels to me like forced nudity and violence scenes mashed together without any actual depths whatsoever to actually tie anything together

So after reading like 3 comments I got into Kimi No Iru Machi and fuck I'm going to hate reading this weekly. Terrible cliffhangers every chapter and the first 3 pages each week are repeats so it's going to be so shitty, lol. But I'm enjoying it anyway! I love series that have an entire cast of characters that I like. The only person I don't really like is Rin but she's acceptable considering her story and how big she is in the story and all that.

I think there's going to be an extra twist. Eba seems to genuinely care for Kyousoke and such so I'm thinking it's a parental thing and maybe an "arranged marriage" type situation with him. She does care for him, but doesn't really want to be there, but has to be for her family and all that.

For what I think of the characters so far:

Akari is awesome, I wish I had a friend like that from my childhood. I laughed so hard when Kanzaki was trying to get Haruto's attention and she just came in with a dictionary to the head, fucking win. And then pretty much everything she did in that whole arc was excellent. And her flashback was an amazing chapter. Early on I wasn't a huge huge fan of hers but I love her now.

Nanami was totally acceptable with wanting Haruto back and went about it in a fairly good manner. I was pretty happy with that whole little arc because the development went well. Though part of me wonders if they retconned her personality a bit cause she wasn't clumsy at all early on and she was epic clumsy in the last arc with her, but you can reason that being that she's madly in love now.

Eba as the main female protagonist is going to depend on the explanation of this arc. Before the whole letter/ignore thing she was good, a bit eccentric but I could get where she was coming from with her actions for just about everything. Now it's going to shift depending on the backstory of this arc and why she's doing what she's doing.

Haruto is a strong male lead. I like how some of the best main male characters are obsessed with "girly" things, like in Toradora that guy did all the cooking/cleaning, so does Haruto. Haruto won my vote as soon as he punched Eba's brother. Random punches out of nowhere are always awesome. I also love how he was overthinking EVERYTHING early in th story with Nanami, that's sooo close to how I was back at that age, so I got a good laugh everytime he did that.
