    Basically the chief editor is moving on to a new Jump magazine. Some of the current staff got promoted (Yujiro, and a couple higher ups). The chief editor paid everyone a visit. Eiji mentioned to him that he will submit a new manga before the chief editor leaves, and that he has already decided that it is going to be an awesome manga with a dark hero.

    well, another battle... this time Ashirogi Muto decided to do the same, do a manga with a dark plot to go against Eiji, to see if they can beat him, but the twist!

    Mashiro realized that if they used the dark hero's character, and make him the villian, they can make a really interesting mainstream manga. Use their strength of dark story plot to make the most mainstream, shonen like plot.


    As for Eiji, he's making a zombie manga. Yujiro mentioned that it's amazing, probably better than Crow. It's simple in plot, but with lots of human emotions involved.

    did the dragon or whatever have limited lifespan or something? Why didn't it go Deathwing over the 7 years period? Or did they just conveniently forget that?

    didn't bother reading anything before the 2 chapters mentioned, and doesn't seem like it'd be worth my while to read anything after

Any logical reason why they needed a timeskip? Nope. Any idea why Mashima decided to do one? Nope. I'm just floored. Here's hoping next week's chapter actually explains something and it doesn't just go back to the same routine.

    The only reason I could see this time skip being useful for the story is now Zeref has had 7 years to do whatever the fuck he's doing and maybe Jellal will have a beard now.

    I watched the anime and I really liked it. Does the manga go past the anime or does it end differently?
